im on my way to pick my husband up from work and i come to a stoplight, next to me is a truck with two guys, mid twenties? being decent outside i had my windows down and was enjoying the weather.

the guy in the passenger seat looks over at my car and goes "Hey! NICE Camaro!!!"

"Thanks, but its not a Camaro, its a Trans Am"

"Whats a Trans Am?"

confused i reply "A Pontiac Firebird?"

"Whats a Firebird?"

sigh..... "A Camaro..."


how did Camaros suddenly get so popular that no one has a clue what a T/A is? has everyone forgotten the giant bird on the hood that made the 70's car so popular? the Bandit movies? i thought for sure the return of Knight Rider would've have rang some bells...

i just dont get it? ive never had a hard time knowing what was what. every once in a while if you do see a 1st gen flyin down the freeway they can be a little hard to figure out if you dont get a good look at it.

but 2cnd 3rd and 4th?? come on...

i guess to some people a car is a car

I agree. Same thing has happend to me. I have a hawk and sometimes need to explain what it is. Im sure the camaro got famous after the Transformers movie.
