honest mechanic in los angeles
I'm basically looking for a honest and good all around meachanic in the los angeles area..I stay in hawthorne and I don't want a meachanic that's more than 15 miles away. Thanks

Exactly. They don't seem to have a problem with PMs, just blatant advertising within a thread.
It would be like someone (who didn't pay to advertise) writing all over your classified ads section in your Sunday paper.

Well, this is supposed to be a technical forum to help people out. Based on his requirements of 15 miles or less I don't think pitching a Sponsor further away would help him any.
Haddad is in Inglewood which is not far.
And I have gone to Bothwells in Torrance/Redondo before I trust them, but I don't think they will tune a car.
Hope that helps.

Ok all of those sound coo. I'm gonna get a lot of stuff done. I'm just patiently waiting. My car is fully stock except the air filter (lol). So I wanna get a cam, headers, exhaust, torque converter, suspension, brake kit, but for now I jus need a honest mechanic for major tune up, and I might be rebuilding the tranny. My car has 121,xxx so I jus want my car to stay running coo.

If your familiar with Vbulletin, they can monitor your PM's if they choose and there are rules specifically against doing business through PM's by non sponsors.
In order to get a thread locked you have to 1. Violate the rules 2. Be specifically selling something (usually in direct competition with a paying sponsor).
First off this guy asked for a local shop to his location, I am not a shop just providing advice. Second, he would have got the info.

I'm basing my comments on experience, not speculation FWIW.

I am doing both, since the rules are subject to interpertation by the Moderator. I had a thread deleted because I was trying to develop a product (roll bar for a vert at a co. in Chi town) and they said because I listed a price that it was soliciting. So I relisted it again without a price and again they shut it down again. At the same time I have seen mods say that you can discuss other companies products as it relates to our vehicles. But since Mods are not on 24/7 monitoring, anyone with the Instant email notification would have got the info first.
I think to call this a technical forum now is a stretch. It is not about helping out so much as it is about an advertising revenue source and the mod are here to protect the advertisers. True the advertisers provide the revenue pay for the hosting, I wonder how much the Mods get paid???
This is a pricey site to advertise on and when I have the product ready I will likely get on as a sponsor myself.
Rican boi sorry to spoil your thread.
