Everybody is getting $600 back not $300.
Check out the website:
Starting in late April, the Treasury will begin sending economic stimulus payments to more than 130 million households. To receive a payment, taxpayers must have a valid Social Security number, $3,000 of income and file a 2007 federal tax return. IRS will take care of the rest. Eligible people will receive up to $600 ($1,200 for married couples), and parents will receive an additional $300 for each eligible child younger than 17. Millions of retirees, disabled veterans and low-wage workers who usually are exempt from filing a tax return must do so this year in order to receive a stimulus payment.
I'm doing a cam swap with this money!!!

I don't think that's right bro. On the irs page it has this calculator.
It asks you to plug in info off your 1040 form from '07 to find an estimate of how much you can get back. Not everyone will get the 600.00 amount.
Here is that link: http://www.irs.gov/app/espc/

Not precisely, all of the information on the questionaire is for verification of your income. All of the requirements are already outlined, or have already been published on the website. Only those who filed an adjusted gross income of no more the 75G, or 150G for married couples, will see the $600 for single, and $1200 for married couples. Those who claim more than the 75G, or 150G for married couples will receive reduced rebates of 5% based on their Adjusted Gross Income in 2007.

I was going to plug in my figures on the calculator, but I can't access my '07 1040 form from turbotax to copy it.
If you notice in that irs statement though, it says qualifying individual filers can get UP TO $600, and a minimum of $300. It mentions low income filers that report minimum 3k get the $300. But what about people that made more than that, but less than the 75k? They get the full $600 back, or somewhere in between 3 and 6?
It's not a big deal, I just don't like to guess about money I might receive.
