Yeah, I mean Fbodies always get ragged on for having crappy interiors and this is what they put in a new 2010 vehicle? No optional nav? all that wasted space where those four (ugly) gauges sit. That would be my first mod, ripping that crap out and forming something nice, new & modern looking.

the z28 has never been the top dog, yes its been rarer but the ss camaro has always had the option for the biggest engine. into the 2nd gen camaro's the ss name was dropped in 72cause performance was so down, they only kept z28 until 74, then after its epa crushed 5,7l 180hp engine, gm finally gave z28 a break from all the humiliation. thats how it went down,
the z28 package was only developed so gm could participate in the scca class with all the other pony cars, as a rule they had to build at least 500 cars available to the public.
btw the new camaro is sick, so what if they put a 4 cyl in it, still will be as fast as a gt mustang, its not like this is the first time an f body will have a 4 cyl, who gives a ****

The Z was a street legal race car, read the period correct reviews, not something written 40 years later. Sure we have hindsight now, but at the time the Z was basically a street legal race car.
Bigger engine? So what. I dont want to trade my LS1 for a V10 diesel.

Ok, so what? Look at comparisons from the time the Z against an SS(cant remember 350 or 396+) was slower 0-60 but the Z slapped the SS around on the quarter. thats like saying the 429CJ motor wasnt fords top dog just because they made it to be able to race it.

secondly, i dont have to read reviews written 40 years ago, by the same type of dumb people who call themselves automobile critics.
and if you think a measly 327ci car could hunt down a 427ci ss camaro at the dragstrip you are completely mistaken.
im not saying the z wasnt a bad *** car, dont get me wrong, but my idea of a bad *** camaro isnt how it goes around turns. its how it goes down the quarter, and especially back in the day when these cars were all over, i can tell you their was not auto cross event at the local speedway, it was drag racing, at long beach, and Anaheim at Pomona, Orange Show speedway, irwindale, lacr and at famoso. please name half as many road courses open to the public.
maybe calling the z the top dog isnt necessarily correct looking at the fans and the culture of the car, you wont be hearing my dad or uncles telling storys about how they beat a mustang around a turn, **** no, come on man get real.

Yeah, that yahoo article is the speculative article that was floating around before the actual unveiling of the car/specs in July.
Notice how they use "may be" "about" "upward of" and "around" because they don't know: "The base LS may be powered by Chevy's 3.5-liter pushrod V-6 making about 220 bhp. The LT models would use the overhead-cam direct-injected 3.6-liter V-6 developing upward of 300 bhp, while the SS will be powered by a 6.2-liter LS3 V-8 (similar to that found in the Corvette) tuned to produce around 400–405 bhp."
When now we know for sure that the V6 has 300hp and the two outputs of the V8 are 400hp and 422hp. ****, they even thought there were going to be 2 V6s and 1 V8, and it's actually the other way around (well, 2 versions of the same V8).

street legal race car? more like a normal camaro, badged differently with the same power plant as the scca cars. far from anything considered "race"
