Heads up....... I know there have been threads about this, but I had to start another. The "survey crew" for smog is out and about. On paramount blvd. right next to South St. in Long Beach. They have everything there, even a ramp for your car to go on...this is literally 1/2 mile from my work, good thing i didnt drive the camaro to work

i have no idea... i saw a sign that said "survey crew" but i mean if someone has a loud car (like most of us on this site)...and CHP is just chillin there...and say they stop you and want to put u on...i mean he can def. look under your car...what do i know though, right?

That's some bullshit. I thought they can't force you to do it if it's on your own time? I mean what if I'm on the way to court or the hospital or a funeral?
How can they just "selectively" pull you over and force you onto the ramps? Now there has to be some sort of rights violation there. That's like them coming into my house without a warrant or probable cause and searching through everything, than saying: it's just for survey purposes.

keep us posted on what you find out...
They can't force you to do that during your own time, however I'm sure if they want to be dick about it they can look for anything "illegal" on your car and send you to the state ref.
