Default Looking to buy a Saturn

Looking at a late 90s early 00s Saturn SL, SL1 preferably, manual preferably, but let me know what you have.

I'll be checking craigslist, ebay, autotrader, etc., but would rather buy from a LS1tech member.

Interesting info... My Camaro gets virtually the same mileage as my old 4cyl/5 speed s10. Camaro with mods/hp in sig=20mpg (mixed driving)(28mpg to vegas!). S10 was right around 22 no matter how hard or slow I drove it

strange..... ive herd its 22-26 on street, 30-34 on highway with the 4cly 5speed, thats single cab though.

But ya i needed a 4cly. and ive always needed a truck.

My s10 often had my stunt bike in it (~400lbs). But like I said, pretty much always averaged 22-23 no matter how I drove it. High mileage but I took good care of it. Just what I personally observed

I would get a used toyota if I got another 4cyl truck

the Toyota's cost more for some reason, and ive been driving GM vehicles for like 3 years now.... cant break tradition now. LOL

Yeah f*ckin toyotas hold their value. In all honesty, my s10 was one of the most reliable vehicles ive ever owned. Had 185,000 miles on it when I got rid of it still running strong. Now a family member owns it and it STILL runs great.

i had a 99 SL2 manual, and it was awesome. great gas mileage (cause the motor is jap) and the the car weighs like... nothing for a 4 door. id suggest the 96+ SL2 5spd if youre gonna get a saturn. or even the 96+ SC2 5spd.

i sold my 98 saturn SL1 with over 200k miles for $750 to a friend. i kind of regret it because that car really was a tank. it likes long term daily abuse - and you can't dent them.

averaged around 90mph freeway commutes with 30+ mpg. on long drives, i was even able to squeeze out above 35 mpg.

only reason i sold it was because it was difficult trying to justify parking 3 cars.

Saturns are great, you maintain them and get 200k miles out of one and my 96 got 33mpg mixed. half price of honda, nissan, toyota and NO ONE steals a saturn.

Exactly what I found. There was no "Japanese car premium" tied to it.

Nope, I contacted him via PM and called him today. Only downside is he's in northern CA.

I could have been your friend, *******!

I've been driving my Durango and I watch as I fluctuate between 16-18mpg in mixed driving (according to the mpg guage). I find myself wanting to put it in neutral as I coast to a stop. Especially sitting on the 91 this morning...
