This is what went down......

So I went today to the smog station. I wound up putting in the Guaranteed to pass emissions formula. Everywhere I happened to check was out of stock with sea foam so I said screw it and tried it out. I basically had to wait a bit after putting it in. It recomends that you drive through an entire tank then refill and go straight to the emissions test. So after filling up today I drove it about twenty minutes fairly hard on my way to test it. The emissions still wound up failing, and it was even worse. My HC doubled. The CO doubled and the NO tripled. A week ago I barely missed on HC and now it was complete **** on all read outs.
Any thoughts. I have no idea what else I can do. I can't believe that the cats all of the sudden took a **** that bad in exactly one week. The difference between last week and this week is that my cats were way hotter this time from diving the **** out of it, and I put in the G2P which is pretty much bullshit from what my read outs are.

I got those cats pretty damn hot when I went down for the check. Today I just replaced all the spark plugs. I have a feeling that that also might have a little to do with it not burning off the fuel. I got a new air filter as well, the oneI just replaced was dirty as **** and the last time I changed the spark plugs was about 20,000 miles ago. There was a pretty potent furel smell when I changed them out, not too sure if you normally smell that when doing it. I don't remember it smelling like that last time. The old plugs were pretty dirty. Nothing too crazy though. I also have a feeling that my EGR valve might be a little crapped up with carbon build up too.
It's just weird that in one week it got so bad on the sniffer. I was off by just a bit on the HC last week, then now all the read outs were doubled and the NO was trippled.
A side note... after the tune up I no longer have the infamouse ticking sound coming from my engine anymore.

Possibly.
I know this could potentially be a bad question, but oh well: What fuel do you guys use normaly? I fill up with 76 because there no techron or anything like that in it... as far as I know. Sorry if this is a dumb *** question, but whatever could help I'll take.

Lets hope so. It's just throwin me off how it got so bad in one week. Just kinda weird. Maybe that Guaranteed to pass formula still needed to clear out of my gas tank too.
The only difference was that going through my car (went through an entire tank then refilled) and my cats were way hotter than they were the first time.
Just ****** weird......

Also bad plug wires and low compression or dead cylinder (misfires) will also cause high HCs.
If the car was running rich you would see high COs.
Have you tried again yet? I'm curious to see if the plugs did the trick.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Failed again. New plugs, wires, air filter, and egr valve. Passed CO and NO at 25 mph, but failed everything else.
So...............
Anyone know someone who needs $200 in Santa Clara?

if you had a dead cylinder not only would you notice it running shitty but it should also set a code for misfire and thus fail the computer check as well.
it sucks, if you were closer i'd be more than happy to look at it with you.

With all that new **** you put in, I can only guess that your TS y-pipe cats are too far away from the combustion chamber and too cool by that point to do much good. Time for a hookup.
