New Camaro will disappear again.

I hope the economy gets better but it wont be soon. At least it will take long enough to where a car company cant sit and wait idle hoping for the best. The political comment was just a little point on how not even politics can really change the enviornmental issues and oil prices and oil consumption. Its just a point that reflects how so many odds are against not just performance cars but overall gasoline using vehicles.

its not that the government listens to all the tree-huggers and hippies man...the fact of the matter is that the government doesn't want to tap into our resources of oil. Lets say we go to war some 20yrs from now and the middle eastern countries that we get our oil from refuse to sell us oil because the war is with them or a surrounding country...or the war affects them in some sort of way and so they refuse to sell us oil. How do you think the war would turn out if didn't have enough or any oil to power our tanks, planes, helicopters, etc.?? and since they tapped into their reserves because people were bitching about gas prices in 2008 they don't really have much oil either nationally. So, in other words, the government doesn't give a rats *** how much we're paying for gas. The oil you all want to tap into is there to watch the United States back just in case of an emergency or a big and expensive war.

No we haven't but the US is not allowed to drill anywhere they want...they don't own the world, even though they think they do...all we get is about 200 nautical miles off the east and west coast. That reserve you guys want to tap into is all the US within its territory, aside from what's in Texas or whatever. I don't know why people on this site bitch about gas prices. Did you buy a V8 camaro/firebird thinking about fuel economy or performance? if you want both people should just buy a Honda Civic Si

actually, the ANWR has nothing to do with reserving gas for when we blow up the middle east (), it has to do with the fact that a president (i think it was Truman) secured the area from drilling, back when our technology sucked and would greatly effect wildlife. This was pushed by the tree-huggers.
it now takes an act of congress (literally) to lift that hold, even though now our techology allows up to drill and would effect less than 1% of wildlife.
the off shore drilling is also a ban set by a president (Bush I from what i remember) because of oil spills.
