The new Cobalt SS is what I would suggest. They should be a nice little kick *** car and will have plenty of room. I dont remember the MSRP on them but I know they are under 30k for sure.

Well the mazdaspeed3 is faster and more practical for the needs that he has stated than the sky. As for the cobalt SS I don't know, still smaller, and have yet to see it perform as well other than the ringer they used around the ring and such.

I said the NEW model comes in sedan not the old ones.
Alot of the reviews of the new Cobalt go to show that its a DAMN nice car for what you pay for.

Oh alright, I just checked chevy's website real quick and they didn't mention anything about it. I'd still rather have a hatchback for the extra room and more practical, not to mention faster

Oh yeah i forgot about the new Cobalt "SS". They are supposed to be fairly quick, brembo's out front, turbo, nice tuned suspension, decent size, and 23K as a base SS. They are offering $1500 off so it would be 21.5K base so your credit will determine OTD price.

The 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt SS uses up just 5.8 seconds accelerating to 60 mph, and it goes through the quarter-mile in 14 seconds flat at 103.6 mph. This is a night-and-day improvement over the supercharged Cobalt SS, which couldn't break 7 seconds for 60 mph and ran a 15.2-second quarter at 95.6 mph. In fact, the '08 Cobalt SS is, for the moment, the quickest car you can buy under $25,000.
Even the Mazdaspeed 3 can't keep pace with this Cobalt, as the two examples we've tested posted quarter-mile times of 14.2 seconds at 100.1 mph and 14.5 at 98.7 mph. The Chevy's main advantage is that it weighs 200 pounds less. Also, you can upshift in the SS without lifting.

Yeah well at the track with real people where it matters if some girl could get the MS3 to do 13.50 in the heat of fantana with just an intake. Also is that the sedan SS or coupe SS? I imagine the sedan is quite a bit heavier.

Meh its whatever.
I wouldnt buy a MS3 without driving the SS first. They will both be nice cars and only $20 is the difference in MSRP so they obviously are meant to be compared and measured agaisnt each other.

The MS3 is in Evo and STi territory around a track and in a straight line. And yes that was with just an intake no tune or anything. With a CAI, tune, and a sticky tire I have seen them in the 12's. Also being that it has been out longer you could probably get more off the MS3 over the SS

problem with the ms3 is that there is not aftermarket past minor bolt ons. My friend had one and got rid of it. They cant tune for the direct injection. The cobalt dumdumdumdumdum is faster and has alot more aftermarket. but i wouldn;t choose either of them. The g8 is the best bang for the buck. they can be had for $28000 out the door. tons of room inside, tons of trunk room and runs 13.5-13.7 stock. They also get good economy new 5 speed auto.
