I was thinking about just doing an LS1/T56 swap as I found a donor car with 80k on the drivetrain for 2k. But I'd be getting way in over my head with, not so much the mechanical part but the wiring and other fab stuff. Then I'd have to convert everything over to a manual etc. While I can afford the donor car I couldn't afford to pay someone to install it. Plus I'd want to put headers and a cam before I swapped it.

Well sir the benefits of friends, I got the write up to swap to a t56, so thats not an issue. now the only thing is wiring you say? shoot that should not be much of an issue either, I think all you might need is motor mounts not 100% sure. I have done cam install and know what ya need to do. If you get the donor car we can figure this out, only thing you would need to do is find space to do it.

Biggest issue would be somewhere to do it. I live in a Condo and the car is my DD. You guys have me seriously looking into it though. I may ask if I can borrow my cousins Saturn thats sitting at the moment..

Your first plan about selling the lt1 and buying the ls1 was actually a good plan to begin with, I would say do that and save yourself lots of time, energy, and unexpected costs.

I may buy the car just to part it out. The LS1/T56 are worth the asking price. I think I'm going to fix and sell my 95 Z28 6spd and save for a decent Z28 or SS. Not sure yet.

The swap would be sick for sure and I have the money but yeah.

Every Friday. I most likely won't be out this week unless I can somehow pull a miracle out of my *** and get my car back together.
