You still have to aim a shotgun.

I can't imagine a sound I'd want to hear less than a shotgun shell being chambered... well, the sound of said shell firing... but other than that, nothin'. It makes a pretty good security system.

I'd recommend the Benelli M4 Super 90 Shotgun

Had one in Iraq. It's a fantastic weapon. It might be a little long for home defense, but it's fast and smooth even with slugs.

I'm in the market for a 12-Gauge (something like a Remington 380 or equal quality). Looking something more tactical though, like 8 rounds, pistol grip with folding stock (which I could obviously add if you have something else) etc...

Also looking for a hand gun. A good semi and a good revolver.

If you have anything let me know. Looking for reliable stuff that could see duty, not collector stuff.

Not to sound too much like a freak but coming from Florida (where my dad had a CCW and always had two handguns ON him and we had a wall of rifles and shotguns and I just grew up assuming I would as well) I feel naked out here.

Also have a buddy pumping peak oil fear in my ear every day...

Want to at least have more than a sword on hand if the country does completely go down the crapper or hell, this town riots if the Lakers lose, God forbid we have a Bush/Gore repeat with Obama and he looses...

Anyways, call me a gun nut but it is a constitutional right, I have a license and I plan to buy and register it properly etc... For me it is no different than having my AAA card, I don't want to ever have to use it but I don't ever want to have to need it and not have it either.

Then again, I've already had to use both

ONCE YOU APPOLOGIZE THEN WE CAN TALK BUSINESS ..few guns i own

sks, ak47, 3 .22 1 single shot 22 1 10 Guage 1 12 guage 1. 30.6 packs a wild punch... hell its like 3 feet long. 9mm working on getting a M4

BUT YOUR JUST IN LUCK I DO HAVE SOME VERY HIGH POWERFUL BB GUN'S I MIGHT SELL TO YOU ONCE YOU APPOLOGIZE

You think Nazifornia has some F'd up Car laws, wait until you see the BS us gun owners have to deal with. Especially if you are coming from another state (one that is more lax on gun laws).

Like Harrison Ford in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

I might be wrong, but modifying your shotgun, to enable it to hold more rounds might be illegal. You want to make sure your home defense weapon is squeaky clean, if you ever had to use it to put a man down.

obviously you still have to aim, but depending on the target's distance, a shotgun will probably cause SOME damage at least. unless your aim is just horrid.

that was a GREAT scene...i agree tho, keep it clean...doesnt sawing it off cause it to make a wider pattern creating less need for accuracy?

It gives it a wide pattern...no need to saw it off. If you are looking for a shotgun with a shorter barrel they are easy to find. Hell most every month Big 5 has a sale for a couple hundred $$ you could pick one up and put the pistol grip on it.

Whatcha need more than three shots for? In a house if you ever need to use it im sure you will be closer than 15ft, if you cant hit a guy at 15ft with three shots of a 12ga you may as well **** sitting down cause your aim sucks.

EDIT: Also for defending your house be sure to buy a pump shotgun...just the sound of that thing is enough to scare the guy to the point that you dont need to use it.

You don't have to aim a shotgun.......geez......just point it! Big 5 had a sale going last week for a black home defense tactical shotgun with a 18" barrel for only $200. Check it out!
