Silver Auto 06 STS-V Rebuilt Title Good Shape What's it worth?
So I am really considering getting this 06 STS-V. It's very easily repairable, needs a front bumper cover a fog light and a fender.
It currently has a PA Salvage title. Carfax shows the following.....
08/26/2009
TOTAL LOSS VEHICLE
Title or registration issued
to insurance company
08/26/2009
SALVAGE TITLE/CERTIFICATE ISSUED
NOT ACTUAL MILEAGE TITLE ISSUED
Damage Disclosure reported
Severe damage reported
Last reported mileage on 01/07/09 is 49,068. I am told the cluster was damaged in the wreck and it was replaced. Odometer reads 3miles now and it has a sticker saying what mileage the cluster was replaced in the door jam, I believe it was around 53,000miles.
Car is silver, automatic, just needs a front bumper cover and front drivers fender.
Any one have any idea how much this thing will be worth in excellent condition with a rebuilt title and 50,xxx miles with the odometer discrepancy? $18,000? I am only getting it to flip so I am looking for some input. Thanks guys.

$18,000 is WAY too high for a rebuilt, total loss car. No way! You must take at least 50% off of a true sale price which is around $25000 for that car according to KBB 'private party' values. The mileage isn't that exciting either. It is NOT to be considered an 'excellent' condition car. Are you kidding?? $12,000 should be the very most you would even consider. Remember you will have to sell one day and you have to keep that 50% figure in mind when that day comes as well.

I can sell rebuilt salvage title cars at the KBB private party fair price as quick as I can fix them. Sometimes more if the car is exceptionally nice.
The big issue is getting them financed, most banks won't give car loans on salvage title cars. So getting big money out of that car may be a challenge. Then again someone looking to buy a Cadillac typically has money and good credit.
I would shoot for $23K and expect more like $18k
