I'm about to buy a 1999 z28 m6, t-tops with 120k for $3900 the car is in good shape the only thing wrong is a ripped driver seat and cracked tail light.
It has a borla exhaust, 4.10s, and a t/a rear end cover/girdle
Is it a good deal and is there anything i should look for on a car with this many miles?

sounds like a good deal to me, ask the owner about maintenance and general stuff.
listen to the car the best you can and listen for any knocks or ticks. obviously test drive it and see how it runs and shifts.
check the color of the oil, also if the car is cool, pull the radiator cap off and check the coolant, make sure its not milky. if you are unsure of anything, your best off taking it to a certified mechanic and having him look it over.
by the way, you should ask the owner what kind of title the car has

sounds good then, just check the car out from top to bottom to make sure its not going to fall apart on the way home. like i said, if your not mechanically inclined or know what to look for or listen for, take a mechanic with you, or take it to a mechanic.

I am on the other side of the discussion. I wouldn't touch that car unless you are capable of fixing things yourself. If you can, then fine. If not mechanically inclined and you need to take it to a shop, forget it. You will have thousands into that car before you ever see 2011. You will then have a $6,000+ car that isn't worth $4,000 if you needed to sell. Be careful! That can be a ton of miles if the car was run hard, and I bet it was. Nothing worse than buying a 'money pit'. It totally destroys the enjoyment of the car.

NC01TA is exaggerating!! only time it becomes a money pit is wen you have a mechanic that doesn't fix it right the first time!! I think is a good deal and like kliped said, if your not mechanically inclined take a certify mechanic!!
