Found 2000 Camaro SS...Not sure what to do.
Hi guys.
I found a 2000 Camaro SS. Clean tittle, 74,000 miles.
Red with powder coated black SS wheels, no t-tops. (Cloth seats look like new/clean inside)
No wrecks, no body damage at all.
Mods are: Longtube headers, Carbon Fiber Lid, 3" exhaust and gears.
The a/c is out (looks like the compressor)
He is asking for $9,500. Absolutely non-negotiable.
I feel like its not a bargain but not a rip off either.
What do you guys think ?

I got $10k for my red 2000 SS vert with chrome rims, leather and 68k. I would put that on the back burner for a month. Unless your area has a severe LS1 shortage, you should be able to get that car for $7,000 - $8,000.

Non-negotiable with a bad a/c?? He can sit on that car for awhile. That would be an OK price if the car was very good, like you describe, and if the a/c was working fine, but it is NOT. Everyone knows how expensive a/c repairs can get and do you really know what else is wrong with the unit? No way should you pay that $9,500 'as is'. If you wanted the a/c to function properly you might get closer to $11,000 for the car before all is said and done, and that would be like paying retail at a dealer. Not the end of the world but this is a buyer's market, especially with events over the past week in the financial world. The seller can be blind to it if he wants, but a savvy buyer will look elsewhere. Good luck!
