damaged 2002 ws6, what should it sell for
car is a 2002 trans am ws6, m6 126,000miles bone stock.
carpet has rip where heel sits from no floor mat
driver seat is torn and all seats were never conditioned by previous owner so dry and cracked
needs pads and rotors all 4 corners
trans is stuck in 4th gear
recently car was hit and run, driver fender and front bumper damage
headlight motor gears stripped
all 4 wheels have curb rash(previous owner) 1 wheel bent(beautiful nj roads) all 4 tires beat.
rear shocks worn out(bangs on any bump or pothole)
long story short I financed the car 3-4yrs ago and wayyyyyy overpaid(i dont even want to get into grand total or miles at purchase just know they were both high), now with all the work needed a friend lawyer spoke with finance company and i have the chance to pay the car off for what its currently worth and the finance company will eat the rest. My buddy told me all I need to do is find out what this car in similar condition is currently selling for.

First off, sorry about your situation. You really need to use the guide books in this equation because that is what the finance company will consider. NADA or KBB will assist you a little but you have to realize your car is in overall 'poor' condition, not even 'fair', not with what you describe. The mileage is a lot and the tranny just makes matters worse, never mind the body damage. Trade-in value for a 'fair' condition 2002 WS6 with that mileage is about $6,000. With the damage and issues, I can't imagine anyone giving you more than $4,000. A lot depends on how much money would be needed to make it right. Maybe that is even optimistic. Best of luck with your efforts.

Thank you, i assumed it would go off of kbb or nada value but the lawyer said it goes by what it would actually sell for. I assumed something around $2500 but i wasnt sure.
