Just like the title says, I may be in the market for one. It is white no rust mint inside, still has original tires. Thing is a garage queen. it ONLY has 24,000 miles. guy has it listed for 12500 but i know i could get him down to 10k or 9k. he needs money and he is my friend. If i bought it i'd be looking to flip it asap. so i wanna get a good deal where i could make some money on it too.

Screwing over a business partner is bad for business
Also, I doubt you'll talk him down to 9-10k. Maybe 11. Maybe. Car like that to the right buyer could fetch 15k easy. There's one on Craigslist right now for over 22k.

Let me try to assist. I've been quite involved with ultra low mileage 80's Monte Carlos for the past year or so. I own one myself.
Your friend has his SS priced properly and that would be a nice ride for someone for $11,000 or so 'as is'. Flipping it for higher $$$ is highly unlikely. The only Monte Carlos I have observed since Jan 2012 selling for over $15,000 are the Aerocoupes from 1986 and 1987. The regular SS models with ultra low mileage fetch under $15,000 and I am giving you a link for an extremely low mileage SS which just sold at auction for $13,000 plus the buyer's premium. This is real world pricing. http://www.cantonrep.com/news/x13346...moor-Gathering
Needs for the '85 SS will be new tires, which run about $500 for RWL BF Goodrich or Firestone. Known issues are the TCC solenoid in the tranny ($200 by a reputable shop), the heater core, and of course the a/c which will be need to be converted to Freeze12 or R134, whichever is preferred. I had the entire a/c system (condenser, dryer, etc..) replaced along with the belts and the leaking heater core (storage kills these systems, not the miles) for $1,092. Odds are these issues will need to addressed within the first year.
