Opinions on mileage

The seller is over most 'price guides' with his 'firm' price. That is more of a dealer price, not 'private party'.
I personally would not pay over $8,000 for any F-body with that many miles. Here is why (generally speaking): Things just break after the 100k mark. There is no way of getting around that, no matter how well maintained. Paying $10,000 for his car and then needing to put another $2,000 into it over the course of a year or two puts you deep in the hole at $12,000 (don't forget you still have to lay out for taxes, tag, title, etc..). Now you would own a 13-14 year old car with maybe 150,000 miles on it. What could you get it for it then? Maybe $6,000? That's a pretty big hit going from $12,000 down to $6,000 for a car with 6 figures on the odometer to start with. Depreciation is normal on any car but why do that for a car that has seen it's best days.
If you have $10,000, I would pass and look for a lower mileage F-body. In answer to your question, yes, normally a WS6 will have a 'premium' price over a Camaro, but I wouldn't pay it for a 6 figure mileage car. Of course that is up to you. Good luck with your search!
*** Look at the link below and see an example of what you can get for $10,000 or $10,500 cash most likely. An NHRA edition with half the miles. Remember that $11,900 is an asking price. As long as the car was not abused, a major repair bill would probably be less likely, you could drive it 30,000 miles and still get $8,000 for it if you keep it nice. The ownership experience is the key to any purchase. You want to enjoy the car and not be stressing out over it and having it in the shop.

On a personal note, including travels with my elderly 'car collector' neighbor, we have only struck out once in the past 10 years. That $200 loss in that one instance sure beat having a poorly represented car shipped to him. My own last two purchases have been 500 miles away in each instance. I can't tell you how important it was to get these wonderful cars with so little extra effort and cost.
Again, best of luck!
