Default 01' Yellow C5 with 155K on the clock??

What would a 6 speed 2001 Millennium Yellow C5 be worth that has 155K on the OD with LT's, freshly installed, tick master, flywheel stage II clutch, Vararam ram air, and HID's. The drivers seat shows quite a bit of wear and there are some clear coat issues on the front. Oh, it has a nice set of wheels too, deep dish 5-spolk.

In that condition with that mileage my ballpark guess would be $8000-$8500 with a clear title. Thats alot of miles plus is the clutch in good order? Ive heard theye pretty expensive to replace in a C5.

The clutch, flywheel, TB, slave, and master were replaced 7K ago. Clear title. Man... these things have come WAY down.

The price is low because of the mileage. Any Corvette (basically any car) with those miles has the potential to be a real 'money pit'. It would be very unwise to invest serious money into a car like this when it won't increase in value no matter how much you put into it. The mileage won't change.

Fwiw, a few just went through auction and same year and 125 and 130k miles. One was $7,900 and the other was $9,100.

A local guy just sold his 01 Z06 and with 59k miles only got $14k.

The devil is in the details Id be willing to bet that Z06 had either title issues, mechanical issues or an owner who was absolutely desperate to sell

Clean title and clean car. I bet he was just trying to get a few dollars more than trade in.

http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...-progress.html

Just a year not a lot of people put big money in. I just checked auction again and a black one with 73k went for $12,400. There was even one with 15k miles that went for only $19,000. I even checked 2002 which was the firstb 405 year and there was a red 02 Z06 with 59k that went through at $16k.

All true pricing but with auctions, and I learned this in the Porsche world, every car has a history and reason why it is on the block. Most of it is negative. As posted above, it is all in the details, and so much has to be gleaned from each car.

Well most cars in the 75k plus area for mileage are giong to the block. Those kind of cars do terrible on realistic car lots. Not many people have the $15k on hand to put down and no one is getting financed for a 13 year old car that isnt worth much (in theory).

Is everyone in this thread a dealer? Just curious, because if i could get those cars at those prices, I'd be flipping one every week.

That's the problem that we were referring to. There are more things wrong with these cars than you know. Details, details, details, as we posted above. Flipping cars is a lot tougher than you think when they need 'things'. That's why you see those prices. These are not #2 cars, they are #3 and worse, some with 'histories'. "If the price is too good to be true....."
Been there, done that, seen that, in the Porsche auctions, as I said earlier. Corvettes are the same animal. You get what you pay for 9 times out of 10.

yes more than a handful in my family have dealers license (why i cant check auction prices).

If you look though...nothing is selling for crazy high prices. There are members on here practically giving cars away. I remember at a local dealership a friend worked at the only got $23k for an 04 EB Z06 with under 5k miles. Sat on the lot for a bit without a single looker. They only gave $19k for the car though and it was a walk up deal (did not buy a car just wanted to sell his).

I guess I live in an area where the market is pretty narrow, which leads to higher prices. Every once in a great while a decent deal will pop up, but it's very few and far between.
