1998 ws6, AT, 15000 miles, mint condition
Just want to take a quick pole. I've been doing a lot of reading on the forum, and can't quite land on a result! Car is show room new, Artic, tan interior. What's a fair price to pay?

$13,500-$14,500. 1 owner, full maintenance history, original OEM and purchase documents, fully up to date on fluids, filters, tires, etc, all add to the value. I recall going after a similar car back in 2011. I think it was out of Maryland. It was white, 1 owner, A4, and 10K-14K miles. It was advertised for $14,500 and sold for that price. Probably worth close to that amount today as these very low mileage WS6's have not depreciated since then....assuming no mileage added.
Hopefully, a dealer doesn't have it or the asking price could be another $2K-$5K higher. If the car is nice, and a '98 A4 is what you're after, then don't delay too long as it reasonably priced it will go. The '98 WS6's are fairly scarce as they made so few of them compared to the later years. If it still has the OEM single on the left exhaust (SOTL) that would be cool. A build date before April 1998 would ensure you won't have the issue with the roof paint bubbling (numerous old threads on this topic)....and that's a nice plus for a 1998.

This is why I personally prefer a '98. The various reasons why others prefer later years are either a non-issue to me or easier for me to update/change, vs. doing a proper roof repair on a '99+ (or very late '98) car. I've been through the roof repair on my '02 - even with an OE panel the fitment wasn't as perfect as the assembly line original (much of this has to do with the quality of the installation, but not many local shops have experience with this, nor would I want to do it myself.)
This is a bigger deal on the Camaros though as all the V8 models have black roofs, which exaggerates the condition.
