Default Need opinions on this car.

Hi guys! New to F-body's but have a mechanical background. I'm looking at this 1999 Formula but need opinions on what might be a fair price. Moded cars always set off flags I know, its just something about this car i can't quit looking at Figure the T56 needs a rebuild but with the go-fast stuff done to it I thought it might be worth the risk. 4500$ is my thought but maybe less?

I have for sale a 1999 Pontiac Formula Firebird. It has a LQ9 6.0 with 60k miles and a Ls hotcam, Summit racing underdrive pulley, Volant ram air intake, offroad y pipe, mcleod clutch with adjustable wilwood clutch master, Founders rear lower control arms with rear relocation brackets, UMI road race k member, and Bogart RR-RT wheels, Raptor Ram Air hood needs paint, HID headlights and fog lights, Aux jack for phone hook up. Transmission needs synchronizer's shifts fine till you try to Power shift. Everything else works will include some extra parts. No Trades please. Clean Title.

Not sure on a price....it says 60k miles on the replacement engine but what about the rest of the car?

Also, the vehicle in that picture appears to be a Trans Am, not a base Formula. All the Trans Am pieces are there (front & rear bumpers, front lenses, spoiler, ground effects.) Odd that the seller would call it a Formula. In terms of Carfax, etc., it will identify as a Formula because that's how GM identifies all V8 4th Firebirds within the VIN, but in terms of options/trim level it clearly seems to be a TA. This can be confirmed by the RPOs on the SPID sticker. It's just odd that the seller would specifically call it a Formula when it appears to be a Trans Am.

That car sure looks familiar. Is it in Michigan, by any chance?

It's Georgia. Thanks for replies guys. Those wheels are 2500$ alone. Figuring 1k for T56 rebuild.

Did somebody else ask about this same car or is it for sale here? I know I've seen it.

How is the paint? It's really hard to say from one pic and a quick description. I'll say this though, it had a blown motor at some point most likely and the trans is iffy when he "power shifts it" ---- this car has probably led a pretty hard life. If it were me I would most likely pass unless it looks really nice in person.

And yeah, how many miles?

Looking at cars with photos and a telling description is a lot like online dating.

Don't trust the photos, go and see the car.

It has some "upgrades" but it definitely needs work.
