To buy or not to buy? 2003 Z06
So I can pick this up for $ 8,000. 2003 Zo6 with 111,000 miles with heads up display.I would say car is in good condition overall except for needing 4 new tires. Mods are aftermarket air box and filter, long tubes, short throw shifter, flow master force 2 axel back exhaust. Needs minor things such as a good detailing inside and out. Maybe a few other odds and ends to be expected with a 15 year old car. Only major thing I can find off hand is AC is not operating. Drove car today, rides nice. Runs good and pulls strong! Dyno tuned 380 something hp to Rearwheels , I seen the graph but can’t recall.
Im leaning towards buying it because, for 8 grand I would be hard pressed to find a nice clean 4th gen camaro around this area. I feel like it’s a lot of bang for my buck as far as performance. Also I know LS motors are prettt reliable, so the miles doesn’t bother me. Plans are to port heads, cam, maybe fast intake, and more bolt ons. Maybe supercharger if I come across a deal. Haven’t had a toy car in a few years since I sold my 00 z28 and really want a 2013 or up z06 but that’s not in the budget right now so hoping this will fill the void for awhile.
Deal or no deal?

Sounds like a hell of a deal to me. Tires will be at least a grand, but you'd still have a nice Z06 Corvette for under $10,000. The color is nice also.

I hate to rain on a parade but it smells like a 'money pit' to me at any price. You get what you pay for. Corvettes can be very high maintenance and expensive no matter what the mileage, but you increase the odds of a vehicle 'needing things' as the mileage rises. It isn't just the drivetrain but every other component of the car, and it's all expensive. If you can repair things yourself, great, that's half the battle, but if you can't, hide your wallet. It will be emptied soon. While the C5 Corvettes are certainly decent cars, and light years above the C4 models, repairs are still commonplace. Good luck with your search if you don't get this one.
