Default This is annoying

So i went to the track last friday i had my new bfgoodrich g force drag radials on and my best 60 ft was 1.95 with 20 pounds in them. Its terrible for a drag radial. Today i went to the track started off at 20 pounds again got a 1.97. then went to 18 pounds got a 2.00 60 and then i dropped it down to 15 and got a 2.01 fo. I was getting 1.99 60's all day with my street tires. I don't know what to do. I'm launching the car roughly a 1600 to 1800 to. Its an auto if u didn't read my sig. Any suggestions or help would be great to get my 60 ft down. Then maybe i could get a 12.5 or 4 out of just a full exhaust car. At a 12.6 with the 1.95.

Maybe you should get the mickey t's or the hoosiers....they both are proven to hook...or you can try and drop the pressure to like 16lbs and a good smokey burnout...

im not trying to put down m/t cause there an amazing tire..but due to the back order maybe you should try the hoosier they are a very good and proven tire as well.. If there wasn't such a back order id order the m/ts but hoosier will get the job done

..........just my 2 cents ive used the hoosiers and they hook good ... i only got a chance to run on them like 4 times because they were my friends ...on his cammed and stalled ta he was grabbin 1.60 60fts no problem

i had the same tires before and they hooked pretty well, i did a really good burnout with them to get them to stick but they hooked well. I have mt now and they hook like crazy but with just your modded you should be able to get the 60 foot down if you heat your tires up more.

Sorry man, but you're doing something wrong. The answer is not, "get Mickey Thompsons" but rather find out why you aren't getting good results. That tire is easily capable of 1.6x all day long even when it's bald. What size are they? Is it hooking and bogging, or is it spinning?

Back in my C4 days, I could launch the car at 3k RPM, dead hook and only get a 2.0 short time because the car would bog down (no power).

Although since you're trapping 109 you shouldn't have that issue. Have you tried to flash it off the line? Launch at basically idle and just mash it, see what happens.

A way to see if you are running correct pressure: Do a small burnout, just enough to leave a mark. Look at the marks and find where the mark is darker, if it's on the sides then you need to raise pressure. If it's darker in the middle then you need to lower pressure. Keep making changes until the tire mark is even across the width.

Well you never really said, are you spinning? bogging? What's the deal with your 60ft...

I had the same thing happen to me, I run low 1.8's 60' with my street tires then switched to too big of a slick (too tall) and I bogged and couldn't manage better than 1.97

Yea i know these tires hook on my uncles chevelle and he gets good 60 fts. The size is 275/40/17.
If the car is bogging down what could the possibilties be??
I'll try the burnout and messing with the tire pressure. I'll try hiting the track again and flashing it. Never have done it before but i'll see what happens.

On a street tire which was the same size as the drag radials i could only get a 1.99 60. How the hell are you getting a 1.80's??

i would imagine that the converter is helping him a lot off the line. Considering i only have a stock converter in the car that doesn't help me. I 'll have a converter in, in a few months. Hoping this will help!

My car bogged because it didn't have the power to keep the tires turning. That was with 250hp, so you shouldn't have that issue.

Try leaving off basically idle next time and see what happens.
