what drag wheels will fit
I love my Convo Pros. Has anyone had Bogarts bend on them on the street? That is the only thing that would make me stay away from them. I ride over railroad tracks, potholes (a huge on the other day that I didn't see), all kinds of stuff on my Convo Pros and they are still as straight as they were when I got them.

Caliper interference can vary from car to car. This is especially true when using aftermarket components. The reason for this is our brake setups "float". Therefore, any larger then normal brake pad, rotors, calipers can cause the caliper to "float" outwards into the shell and or center of the rim.
Even STOCK components will vary from car to car due to the calipers casting. This is why some guys have to grind while others didn't have to do a thing.
The Bogart P1 rims are designed to have the largest clearance available. If one had to grind even with a Bogart, then most likely, it would be much worse with other manufactures drag rims.
For the most part maybe 99% of the guys using stock components didn't have to do a thing to their calipers...the ones whom did had VERY minor filing to do...From my knowledge, there have been NO major grinding issues...most can be resolved with a hand file (ie flashing removed etc). The ones whom did have to do this type of modifications were mostly guys with aftermarket brake components.
Pertaining to using an 8 inch rim...this is acceptable but in my opinion using a larger rim is much more desirable as one can use a wider tire for better traction. Stuffing too wide of a tire on a smaller rim is not recommended. Regarding BS of an 8 inch rim is subjective. I set up our 8's to have a little more then 6" BS on it so that the rim is properly "tucked" into the fender area...this will set the rim in a near stock position and help eliminate any fender to tire interference. The car from the rear will not have an extended wheel appearance.
Regarding bending a Bogart on the street, first off, let me state our rims are NOT designed for street use. For me to tell you its ok to use them on the street could get me in trouble as they are not "street legal" rims. I can state many guys use them everyday on the street without issues.
Over the entire production line of the P1 series rims for F-bodies from my knowlege, we have had ONE rim failure from street use (This is from over 1.5 years of production!). One benefit from our service is that if a rim is damaged, we can be repaired if its damage is within reason. Other manufactures drag rims (which for the most part are NOT Street legal CLEARLY stating this stamped on the OUTSIDE of the rim) do not offer repairs as an option.
Are our rims the best? That is subjective to the interpreter...there are advantages and disadvantages of different manufactures. Our advantages are they are the lightest on the market for its class, they are designed for our cars, and they are made with show quality appearances...
Can they be compared to other manufactures rims...well they are both round :-) Our rims are truly made to our customers needs. They are not mass produced rims set at one size fits all.
Hope this long winded post helps...lol
