Default Uneven Wheel Weights

I've got knock off Z06ers on my Camaro and two OEM ones laying around for spare duty. There's a 5lb difference between the fake and OEM fronts. Would running a wheel that's 5lbs lighter on one of the front corners of my car cause any issues? Vibrations, pulling, ect. Not just temporarily, but indefinitely.

In other words, you're as clueless as me

C'mon folks. Someone's got to have a bit of input on this.

You could always stick 5 pounds of lead weights to the light one.

With that small of a weight difference, i seriously doubt that would cause a 3500+lb car one direction or the other. As far as vibration or out of balance vibrations is concerned, as long as the tire is balanced properly you wont feel a difference.

I doubt it, the only thing I can relate it too is having slicks and skinnys, the fronts are alot lighter than the rears and it does not make a difference in the way the car rides, at least ive never noticed anything on my 95.

are you saying you have two real ones and two fake ones and one set is heavier than the other? that's what i get with the first part of your post, and then you mention only one corner, leading me to believe you either have 5 wheels or 1 is fake and the rest are oem or vice-versa.

5 pounds isn't a whole lot relative to the rest of the car but you have to factor in that the 5 pounds is going to be spinning, and therefore causing it to weigh much more.

if you have 2 and 2 i'd put the lighter ones out back and the heavier ones up front.

If it were me, I'd do it the other way, so any difference wouldn't be felt through the steering wheel.

you're right. i posted that backwards. use the power to the rear wheels to help spin the extra weight.

I've a full set of fake Z06 wheels. 17" up front and 18" out back. I'm considering sticking an OEM wheel in place of one of the fronts. Therefore, I'll have a set of fakies and one OEM, which is lighter.

Would consider both, but the OEM pieces are one front and a rear. Not going to look crazy running a 17" on one side and 18" on the other O_o

I know 5lbs isn't a lot, but might be in rotation. Just seeing if anyone's had any problems with such a set up.
