Default Will Weld Draglite 16x8.5 XPs Fit?

I'm looking at a pair of weld draglite XP 16x8.5 with 5.5" of backspacing. Will these fit the rear of an 99 Z? I'm stock ride height, and don't really plan on lowering any. I'm trying to use these wheels as a dual purpose drag wheel for it and a Cobra I have (requires a 16" wheel).

Thanks for any help

Unless you have a stock pile of 12x150 lugs specifically for that set of wheels and the Camaro I wouldn't plan on running them on it. I found out the hard way had a brand new set of 17x9.5's and Weld, Mcgard, and I cant remember the other company all discontinued production of the lug nuts. Since the wheels have also been discontinued no one plans to make any ever again. I have called and called Jegs had a total of like 6-8, Summit had absolutely none. It was a big mess and I ended up with still running stock wheels for now.

Don't 16x8 draglites use the same lugs as 15x8 draglites? I could have swore the shank on the lugs was exactly the same.

No they use a lug nut all to their own. Bigger diameter shoulder and longer shank as well to make up for the thicker inner hub of the wheel.

A friend of mine just purchased lugs for a pair of XPs he has on his car from Summit about 2 months ago... don't think there is an issue with getting them.

Anyone know if the 16x8.5's will fit?

Thanks

Yes they will fit. They dont tuck in as much as most like but will fit. And you do need to run a Weld specific lugnut. The shank is thicker.

The XP's call for a shank style lug nut, but the shank is bigger than a regular Pro-Star. For the XP's; shank length= 2.125" and shank diameter= .745"
