Default Are these DONE?

A buddy upstate has some tires, doesn't know how to measure, and neither can i. Hence the question, Are these tires completely shot? AND, what would you say they're (all 4) worth?

In other words... i'm offered to take these 4, for 50 bucks... Should I take them!? I heard Comp's are tough to find, and are pretty badass (except in rain).

I know 50 would be worth them all, even if they were worn to the MAX. But my question is, CAN I GET MUCH LIFE OUT OF THEM!? lol

My concern is this: I'll pay the 50, then perhaps another 30 to mount them onto rims and maybe balanced, then they're DONE. Next wheel, same deal. Why would i want to do that with 4 tires? Isn't that a hassle

for 50 bucks for the set of 4, it's worth it to buy them. even if they only last another 3000 - 5000 miles, you'll only be spending $12.50/tire plus whatever the mounting/balancing costs....you'll be hard-pressed to find another deal like that.

many tires out there (including these) have "wear marks" that help to easily identify when the tread is below acceptable levels....see the pic i attached with the "wear marks" circled in yellow. if you look closely, you can see them going horizontally in between the rows of tread

wow, that's pretty close to SHOT. Thank you for the little lesson there 02z28. I guess you're right, nothing wrong with what you're saying. I guess i'm making a fuss about the inconvenience of swapping one wheel 4 times!

The wear marks indicat 2/32 of inch. Unless these have a very high wear rate they are a great deal. Dont seem to be wearing irregular either such as the sides more than the middle.

Actually, I think they aren't that bad. For $50.00, I would pick them up.

The wear rate is actually excellent. Review with these tires are either black or white. Those who like them LOVE them, others HATE them. The main concern seems to be rain, but give them a shot.

I don't understand what you're saying, "swapping one wheel 4 times"... You mean the other 3 tires on your car are OK, and you need to replace only one tire??

To me, it looks like there's about 45-50% of the tread left. Depending on how hard you drive, there's probably 3-4 thousand miles left in them. As "02Z28" said, for $12.50 a tire plus mounting/balancing, how can you go wrong...unless they've been outside in the sun and snow for a couple of years since they were last used, and they're all dried out.

I say "swapping one wheel 4 times" due to the low tread-life on the tires.. It didn't look like 50% life to me, then again i don't know how to calculate as well. But the other 3 wheels are pretty close to new, these will die out individually. That's why

They have been stacked on snow, for 2 weeks now... I'll run my hand down the sideline to check out for any rash or tear. Thanks
