Default How are you rotating tires if staggered and directional?

May be a dumb question, but I would want to make the rubber on the wider and more expensive tires last longer....but how do you guys rotate an 18" tire up front and 19" tire in the rear (staggered setup), or even when you have say 275/18" up front and 305/18" in the rear? Plus, aren't most of these wheels directional too, so you couldn't just switch sides on the rears. Jusat wondering...maybe you do not rotate them?
Thanks

ROTATION FAIL

Haha, couldn't resist. If you want to rotate, go with non-directional 17x9.5 or 18x9.5 all around.

If you are running staggered the only way to rotate them is to DISMOUNT/MOUNT/BALANCE the tires every time. You would have to dismount them off the rear wheels and switch wheels so they would be going the right direction.

Basically it would cost you 50-60 dollars each time and be a big time hassle. We used to have to do this on a guys Porsche 911 Turbo that he would put about 500 miles on a year. But he was loaded and didn't care about the price.

Either run the same size all the way around or deal with no rotating them. Sorry man.

But if the tires are directional. You cant just swap them out with the wheels on the other side.

PS. Ive never rotated my tires. Damn 17x9.5/11 set ups

I know what he meant. But I have some directional tires that have "mount facing out"(or something along those lines) written on them. Meaning, they can only be used on one side of the car.

In that case, they are directional AND the tread is asymmetrical...like the OE GoodYear GS-Ds were.

Run 10.5 or 11" wide wheels front and rear with 295-315 rubber. They fit, they look badass, and these cars understeer at the limit anyways. Why would you want to make it worse by running narrow tires up front? Unless, of course, you build your car based solely on how it looks rather than performs.
