please produce a 315/35/17 NT555R2!!

I really want to stop running 275's for the advantage of running the R2's... Also, I'm not a big fan of these new tread patterns on the NT05's...

Might be good with a vette set up (considering the 19/20" offerings), but doesn't do much for me considering I want to continue running 17's. I would like to use 315's all the way around for track use.

You should look into the Nitto NT01. This is a great competition tire for track use and is produced in the 315/35-17 size.

i just bought a set of these

275/35/18 and 295/35/18 and i cant wait to see what they look like on the trans am and the grip they offer they should arrive tomorrow

I just want to say anyone debating on ordering a set.. GET THEM!

These tires are FANTASTIC. MY buddy just got em on all 4 corners of his SS and its probably the most grip his car has ever had. So far they've been wearing really well, but I imagine some more spirited driving will start to wear em down. It's probably as close as you can get to drag radial like grip without dying in the rain.

To top it off they look great on the car.

how do the NT-05's stack up to the Kumo Ecsta XS KU36?

For 315/35R17's, the Kumo is slightly wider with a slightly larger diameter and thread depth. They both have those big *** water drainage valleys. The Ecsta is a few bucks less.

Taking some time off from autox next year, so I'm considering taking the 315/35/17 Hoosier A6's off my 17x11's and replacing them with the NT-05's for street use. I'm not terribly keen on the huge water trenches in the tread pattern, though. If I get them, I'll stack them next to the Hoosiers for comparison.

I am disappointed with the NTO5 315/35 and wish that I had stuck with 555R's, RII's or tried NT01's or another manufacturer altogether.

They rate the 555R and 555R2 2 out 5 wet traction while the NT05 is 3.5 out of 5. Nope, NT05 should be 2.5 at best.

Miles driven to come to this conclusion: 10K on NT05, 6K on 555R2, 45K on 555R1. Roadcourse, highway, street wet and dry.

Look at the NT05 tread pattern, it doesn't make sense. Two huge channels that remove at least 14% surface area and a "slick" section down the middle where water is going to cause problems. huh?

It's important to remember that the NT05 Max performance is not an R compound competition tire like the NT01, NT555R Drag Radial, and NT555RII Road Race so it will not have the same dry grip. The NT05 is a max performance summer tire with reinforced internal construction for better stability at higher speeds and superior dry grip under hard cornering. This model should be compared to other models like the Z1 Star Spec, Kumho XS, and Azenis RT615.

The three tire models pictured all run in different classes so it depends on what you are looking for. We can certainly help you pick the best model for your needs, just tell us a little more information. How many miles are you driving per year? I assume you're after a tire for summer use only? What tire model are you currently driving on and what were your likes and dislikes? Will you be doing any racing? If yes, what type (IE road race, drag strip). What do you want your next set of tires to do for you?

has anyone else run these in the rain? im seriously thinking about these, hopefully in 275/17 on a 3rd gen. without going into too much detail, call it extremely hard driving on street, with road conditions from good to poor, in dry and absolutely wet conditions.

i know their dry handling will be pretty good, but i have to know for a fact the best evaluation of their wet performance. has anyone done a totally wet track day, or really hard street driving in the rain?

Hey guys. I have 500+hp with 4:11 rearend and M6 on my camaro. I only drive my car about 2-3 times a month. And try not to drive in the rain. I had Bfg before and I love them (except on the rain). Now I have Nitto NT555 DRAG and they're sucks. Size 315/35/17. And now the time to get a new set for the rear. What do you guys prefer to use on the street? The BFG DRG radial, Nitto NT05 DRG radial (not the NT555 DRAG )? I know alot of people prefer go with MICKEY THOMPSON DRG radial . But they're cost money.
