Learn from my mistake I purchase blemished wheels from SLP. They were supposed to be slight visual defects and minor flaking. I thought that they would be a good winter wheel. The photo description for them was not that bad. So I bought them for $380 set shipped. Turns out they are boat anchors. Worst wheels I have ever seen. $380 in the trash. They will not take them back. If its too good to be true then it probably is. Take a look.

Yes they look like crap, but what do you expect? New those wheels sold for $1,000 PLUS shipping. I'd say it cost close to $100 to ship, so the wheels cost $280 nearly 1/4 the original price.
Perfect winter crap wheels, or POS drag wheels.
Sorry you feel you got ripped. They can always be refinished too . . . .

Re: Learn from my mistake so whats wrong with em? lol i guess im not all that into appearance but they didnt look THAT bad especially for 75 percent off. you DID want them as winter wheels right? as long as they arent bent or anything, looks are irrelevant for wheels that are supposed to take the abuse you dont want your good wheels taking.

On their site, they clearly grade the rims on 3 scales... NN (nearly new) B1 (slight blems) or B2 (pretty bad).
Judging by the price you paid and the looks of them, I'd guess they are B2.
But I'd say for winter wheels, they're fine!

Re: Learn from my mistake Or they'd make excellent 'leaving my car at the shop for 6-8 weeks while getting ________ installed' wheels. Nobody would steal 'em. 
I have a set of 17" Speedline wheels that were blems, for that specific purpose. Car going to the shop for a while? Take off the Bogarts, put on the junkers. Done it a few times here lately...

There's a reason SLP discounts blems that much.

Re: Learn from my mistake Some wheel shops will refinish them and unless they are cracked or something, you could get them sanded & polished for about 75/wheel. Will be as good as new.

Well, if you get then re-done, you'll probably still come in under the new price.

Secondly, strip em, paint them, polish them, powdercoat them, chrome them, whatever. They'll be fine, and you'll probably still have paid less than full cost.

SLP is too big of a company to selling bs like that
