I think only certain ones COULD POSSIBLY fit and look good such as the Sumitomos and the Nittoo 555R drag radials because they are the skinniest 315's. The BFG's, Goodyears, and Kumho's run wider and wouldn't seat right. With the 10" wide rim though the sidewalls might look too bulged. I had both the Nittos and Sumitomos on my 11" wide rim and they sat right. An inch smaller would probably make the tire bulge over the rim half an inch on each side the rim (1/2" and 1/2" on each side equals 1") I haven't seen it before but it would look similar to a true drag radials. Keep in mind drag radials have softer sidewalls so they could stand up to the extra bulge but probably not the 10" wide rim. 315 tires need an 11" wide rim but I've seen some mustangs with 315's on a 10 1/2" rim and they bulge alot. I would recommend a 295 series tire to be safe and to produce the most even tire wear.

315 what? . . . without complete information it is impossible to accurately answer your question.

If a 315/35ZR17, technically no. 10.5" is the minimum. Just read and follow the manufacturers recommendations.

It is completely pointless to force too big of a tire onto too small of a wheel.

Now if you are looking at a 315/70R17, those fit on a 8.5" wheel.

The Nitto's will fit a 10", there the smallest of them all, But not the Mickey Thompsons or BF Goodrich, They need at least 11" to fit safe

No. a 305/30R19 fits on a 10.5" to 11.5" wide wheel, looking it up at tirerack.com and reading the specifications on the tires that come up . . . .

i have the nitto drag radials on the rear in a 315 on my smoothie II's that are 10in wide. the guy that mounts them say its a bitch but he gets them on there. Nitto is the only one a drag radial that will fit cause they are a little skinnier in their 315s

The OP is asking about 19" diameter wheels. You CANNOT blindly say they fit. The diameter of the wheel and the sidewall height affect wheather they fit our not.

Well i just looked at nittos website and they dont even make a DR in a 19 so you can rule that section of tire out. Im guessing nooen makes a 19 DR yet so you will probably just have to stick with Street tires anyway

I honestly don't see why people throw such a fit on wheel and tire sizes. I know that if the wheel is too narrow for the tire that they might not seat right and may buldge out a little, or wear kinda funny.

And saying that if you have a 10" wheel you can't mount a tire suggested for a 10.5" wheel, do you honestly think that 1/2" will make a life or death situation?? Its only a 1/4" on each side. I'm not trying to start a big pissing match, but everyone has their opinions, but I think running to small of a sidewall like a super low profile sidewall is more dangerous then mounting a tire suggested for a 10.5" wheel on a 10" rim

BTW my dads truck has 35x12.5" tires mounted on 8" rims and the minamum (SP) suggested wheels is 10" and the tires wear fine, look fine, and the guy that mounts them up for us says that they go on just fine.

I'm not telling anyone to mount a 315/35/17 on an 8" wheel or anything but just stating my .02 on this never ending debate

When you reduce sidewall height down to low-pro performance car tires, matching the tire width to the rim width becomes FAR more important.

Those 35's have a full 10" of sidewall between the tread and the rim, so the tire is only being pinched inward 1" for every 5" of sidewall.

P.S. In your Dad's case, he WILL wear out the center of the tire first, because it will be slightly pinched on the wheel unless he runs a very low pressure in the tire. a 10" rim would help it wear more evenly, at the expensive of it being easier to lose a bead when aired down, off-road.
