Question Z06 Wheels In 2002 Ss

Bought A Set Of Z06 Wheels To Install In My Ss. Do In Need To Worry About Any Problems With Clearance Or Changes Needing To Reset The Speedometer? Or Can I Just Bolt In And Be Ready To Play. Thanks

Gotta tell what size the wheels are first.

If you have the 18 x 10.5 in back. You'll need to massage the inner fender well, but then just bolt them on and go.
Your speedo will be affected a little bit. When your speedo says you are doing 50 mph, you are actually doing 50.91 assuming you are using the 295/35-18 with the Z06's and currently have the 275/40-17's.

Hope this helps.

What size rims and tires and is your car lowered? If so, how much?

THANKS FOR YOUR REPLY. THE TIRES ARE STOCK Z06'S. AND THE CAR IS STOCK HEIGHT. I DON'T THINK I NEED TO WORRY WITH A LESS THAN A MILE DIFFERENCE IN MY SPEEDOMETER. I HOWEVER MAY NOT BOLT THEM IN IF I HAVE TO ALTER THE WHEEL WELL. WHAT IS MEANT BY MASSAGING THE WELL? THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP.

First - welcome to the board.

Second - all caps mean you are yelling at us . . .

Third - the fronts will mount right up - no issues, althouhg it would behove you to buy new front tires that match the OEM front diameter - F-Body ABS is not desisign to take into consideration different tire diameters. In the back the inside of the tire may rubb the inner wheel well surface during turns, you will hear it. Take the wheels and tires off, you will see in the undercoat areas where the tire has contacted the wheel well housing - massage -more like beat those areas in with a nice big hammer, re under coat and you'll be good to go.

I never had a problem with ABS when I was running my Y2K Vette Rims, although it is something to take into consideration. Some cars are affected, some are not. I was doing 'emergency' stops just to make sure mine was still working.

Thanks again for your advise. I have not received the tires yet, but I am starting to think twice about installing them. I believe that I had seen them installed in a camaro in the Chevy Vette show last year. I thought they looked good. I don't think I want to bang the wheel well on the back. I think I will try them out and if it is a big problem they will stay, otherwise they may need to go. Does anyone know if these are installed I would be voiding the factory warranty. There are plenty of issues with my car. Love the car but paid a lot of money for multiple defects ranging from water leakage inside the cabin to bad speakers.

Where are you getting the wheels from? I just installed a set of silver ZO6s on my ss last month. F, 18x9.5; R, 18x 10.5. Nitto 285/35/18s all around. The rear was really close but no rubbing issues. At the same time as the wheel/tire install, I went on ahead and installed an adj. PHR, LCAs and relocation brackets along with a set of Hotchkis 1" drop springs. The rear wheels got hung up on the rear bump stop while we installed them but once we lowered the car of the jacks the bump stop came right down where it should be. Closed that sick 4x4 look and with the Hotchkis springs I'm not slammed down on the ground, good clearance for my next mod which is PPC Headers this spring. Good luck, they're great looking wheels. Oh, I got the wheels and tires from DTD.
