If I were to change gear ratio's again with this tire i would go with a 3.90 gear.
Not to mention that if the difference in tire size is enough to mess with the ABS then it probably isn't able to function properly and you might be safer without it. Just some food for thought. I'm not really sure how far off the brake biasing and such has to be before its a safety issue.

running the smaller tire while still hooking is going to net you better ETs... running a larger tire and not needing the extra width/wall is going to slow down your ET but pick up your MPH..

Heres your link. My buddy is running the 275's in a 17 and loves them.
Grab the 275 in a 16" and you'll be happy.

no, not bigger the better..

i cut low-mid 1.5s NA on a 26" tire.. if i went to a 28" tire i would cut 1.6 short times..

so, how would that be better?

26x10.5/16 ET Streets

like i said, i dead hook at the track.. 1.53 short times..

neither one of us are making anywhere near enough power to need a 28" tire.. not even on a shot.

what is your suspension like?

i didnt get to do it... i got called in work on both my off days....
i did seal the lid though, ill try to snap a pic tomorrow and show you that.. VERY please and SO easy!

Where can i get those Mickey's in that size? I am a racing tire noob.. Explain what the 26x10.5x16 is..i think i got the jist of it. 26= diameter of tire. 10.5??? and 16=fits a 16" rim.. Am i close???

I would stick with a 26" tall tire that i know of.. Like you said we are not making the power for a 28" tall tire.. At least not yeat

I have completely STOCK suspension right now

I told you it would be easy to do

i would try to pick up a pair off here... new or used.. you can usually find them on tires for around 200-300 bucks still practically brand new.. just watch the for sale threads for about a week.. you will find some!

26" tall 10.5" wide and 16" rim...

stock suspension suck!

yes, i wish i would have done it before!!

If your only running this tire combo for the track, why would it matter if the abs lights come on w/ a 28" tire? Just pull the ABS fuses when your at the track that way you don't have to worry about your ABS working incorrectly when your braking hard. If you run 2 different sizes of tires your abs will start coming on when you brake (been there). Then put the fuses back in when you put your TTm's back on.

You want the skinniest tire you can get away with.

That's the best of both worlds.

Get the smallest, stickiest tire that you are able to hook up with. It will be the lightest and have the least possible rolling resistance.

No point of going 295 if a 255 will do the job.

i hate when people put a 315 on there "because they need it"...

it funny because if they went with something like a 255 they would be faster...

Is there anything available on the 16" rim in street form wider than 255? I'm struggling to find anything.

you can get BFGs which SUCK..
they are a 275 i believe.. but actually run a little smaller..

the ET radials are a very good tire.. just depends on how many miles you put on our car..

something like a 555r might come a little bigger..

Have ET Streets right now, but would like something that will last a bit longer. ET radials have a longer life than the streets?
