can you powdercoat bogarts???? pros cons?
I've never seen a set of powdercoated Bogart D10's and I'm SERIOUSLY thinking about getting ready to do some appearance mods to my car. It's a racecar at this point and I'm contemplating tinting the windows 5% and taking my currently chrome bogart D10's and having them powdercoated black. The car is medium quasar blue with a black top and black mirrors....
Hell does anyone have any sick photoshop skills and can make my bogarts black and show me what it would look like and do the same with the glass????
here you go....

They are the welded D10's right? I was thinking about getting a set from Steve and having him do the centers anodized.
I think they would look good actually. Always liked the black center look.

yeah these are the smooth D10's (not the ones with the bolts that are bolted D10's...).
And I have the more expensive centercaps that are aluminum instead of the cheap plastic ones.... I'd have those powdercoated on the outside as well..... I just want the rim face done not the inside of the wheel or anything else. Just what shows when the tires on on and the rim is mounted. I guess I'd have to get my lug nuts coated as well.....
I need to see a photoshop but since my car has a black top and mirrors and will soon have jet black tinted windows I can't see it NOT looking pretty friggin darth ******* vader....

Sure, you can powdercoat them. Keep the mounting pad and bolt holes clean and free from powdercoat, you'll be good to go. Personally, I don't care for anything but polished, but if that is what you like, then you're good to go.

sweet thanks guys.....
and especially steve since I got these rims from you and the whole time you were a great guy to work with and order from. I appreciate the great service.... The Rims look great....
I'm still not 100% sure I want to take the plunge.... I kinda like the polished look as well. but i've seen some SICK black wheels as of late and black bogarts is something i've never seen....
I want to get them powdercoated black and the rears will get champion beadlock rings that are polished..... should look SICK...

I don't think I've seen any 4th gens like that. Thank you for the order as well. If you need anything else...questions, comments or other concerns, feel free to contact me.
Here's a 3'd gen with black centers. It should give you an idea of what it would look like. He's got the billet caps black as well. This is a road race setup, so the centers are 2" larger in diameter...

I understood what you meant and would be anxious to see what they look like. I don't have anyone that I'm aware of offhand that coated the whole wheel...only the centers on bolted wheels.

Before you get to crazy and powder coat them consider the temperature the rim will be under to cure the powder coat, i believe about 400f for 45minutes. It may mess with the strength, some people powder coating motorcycle rims have have problems with them breaking when racing. Check with the powder coating company you want to go through and see what the curing temperature and time will be. Then contact the rim mfg and see what alloy of aluminum and temper the rims are made of. You can ask them if the curing time and temp for powder coating with mess with the temper/strength of the rim.
