New Look with Ruff Racing 278s (widened)
Here are some shots from the Trans Am Nationals in Dayton last weekend. I will post up more when I get back home from travel. I had the 19x9.5 rears widened to 19x11 by weldcraft, had the set powdercoated satin black and then cleared for durability, then installed stainless allen bolts to replace the cheap plastic pieces. Tires are Hankook 305/30/19s in the rear and 255/35/19 fronts (19x8.5 rims) The tires are the perfect fit and the offset was great even with the widening for the rears (started with 45mm offset then added the 1 1/2"). What do you guys think?
Now time to shop for a big brake package

Looks good, any reason you decided not to stay with the polished lip? The polished lip breaks up the black, it looks way better with it.. Either way still looks good.

If you cleared over the satin wouldn't it be gloss? They don't look very satin to me.
I really like how they look, but I am thinking of powder coating a set of wheels I have satin black and painting the lips red.
Edit: I am guessing they were sprayed with a non gloss clear. They still look kind of glossy to me.

97Pontta, It is a Suncoast Hood with a factory airbox.
SOMSS1LE, I went all black since I like the look of both all black and polished lips but the polished lips are gaining popularity and I want to try and keep the car different.
My2KZ28, Yeap I started with 19x9.5s and it was $400 for the widening, $100 to smooth the welds plus shipping to and from.
Beaflag, They are glossy but instead of doing glass black from the start we went with the satin black powdercoat and then a clear powdercoat for durability ( I had a set done in gloss before and the durablity is good but this is much better)

There is no such thing as glossy paint unless you are talking about a single stage like a rattle can or low end automotive paint. All paint is flat, you only get gloss from the clear coat. A satin finish and a gloss clear IS a semi-gloss finish, the standard paint you see everywhere. For the satin to have any effect whatsoever, you would have had to use a satin Clear. I realize Powder coating gives you a glossy look so your satin would have been different, but if you covered it with a glossy clear then you may as well have just simply painted them with regular old paint.
I like them wider of course, i you need to ditch the bird on the hood and completely black it out! it doesnt fit now its too light

Your TA looks GREAT!! I have been thinking about having my rear rims widened, do you have any pics of the inside, especially since you had the welds smoothed? I have seen some pics of rims that are widened and I never really liked seeing the welds, so this interests me.
Thanks!
