Default Anyone else always losing lug nut caps with 10 spokes?

I barely drive my LE these days and yet it never fails that the black lug nut caps that came with car just wont stay on. Oddly enough only on my front passenger wheel. I'm missing three of them on my wheel now.

Anyone else have this problem? I can't decide if i should just replace the caps or get new black lugs.

Thanks

Matt

My draglite loses plugs because it isn't perfectly balanced, so it has a small shake. So it is balanced?

Yes the car is balanced and aligned. The LE wheels have black caps over the lugs. I'm not sure if all 10 spokes have lug caps. Just wanting to know if anyone else had this problem. I'll probably just switch to black lugs.

Is it those black plastic ones that come on factory 5 spokes and other factory wheels? If you tighten those too much your break the thread pattern and they just loosen right off while driving. I would just get some black lugs.

I used to keep extras in my glovebox if that tells you anything. And mine weren't overtightened.

I havent had a problem.. You can't just hand tighten them though.. you need to use your breaker bar and tighten them with it just a little.. Haven't lost one that was tightened that way yet..

I wonder if any of our sponsors have some black lugs for a good price. I would just get different wheels but the stock wheels on the LE's just look so nice I can't take them off.

I used to have that problem, but then I just tightened them properly. You damn near have to over tighten them so be careful.

There's a TSB from chevy on the caps, put a dab of weatherstrip adhesive on the cap before you install it and you'll never lose another one.

I've lost a few. I know one came off when I hit 150. The other two that I've lost came off during normal driving.

i just hand tight mine. i think putting a strip of teflon tape on the tread may keep them on.
