I have original 17in chrome rims that chrome is coming off, What are my options? Would it be cheaper to re-chrome them or get a new set? what options do i have..

Probably find a new set, but I hear that the chrome on all 10 spokes isn't that great and if not maintained will pit easily. Good luck man. I want chrome 10 spokes so bad.

Mine are starting to flake too.

If you see a set of narrowed (~6") chrome 10-spokes
around Brevard, be sure and let me know. They're probably
mine that got stolen (along with my ET Streets on another
stock-width pair).

I'm figuring I'll just get a tube of silver "Rub-n-Buff" and
use that to hide the black patches. Chrome wheels and
salt fog aren't a good long term relationship.

seems like flaking is a common occurance on 10 spokes. I don't see why no one carries a knock off version of them. 10 spoke deep dish anyone? I'd be on the list for sure

wheres OE!

powdercoating them should be around 4-500. 300 for the actual powdercoat and the cost to strip them down will vary

Chrome flaking is a common thing. I picked up a used set of 10 spokes that I eventually sold and was quoted $600 to rechrome them. You could do that or powder coat them.

I've always wanted to strip a set of those 10 spoke wheels and paint them black and leave the face silver, kind of like the 35th anniversary wheels look. That would look killer!!!

I still may do it and put drag radials on them

I also had a set with just the lip and spokes polished and still silver between the spokes. I paid $100 for a full set to have any curb rash repaired and polished. I sold these as well. These looked great.

powdercoat the spokes gloss black and do the rest chrome, that would look badass.

mine flake too. they started on the inside of the rim and it was making it's way to the lip. i actually cut my hand on it and took out part of my tire. i think i still have a small air leak. i spent a couple hours with a die grinder and about 10 little 1" sanding pads and barely pulled it off.

there's a guy near where i live that does powdercoating for $50 a wheel. i've seen some of his work on motorcycle parts, and it is definitely good work. and it's $50 complete from start to finish. i've been contemplating coating mine but i just like the chrome too much. plus i don't know would look good with pewter.
