Default 18X10.5 z06 wheels 285/35/18 tires will it need a BFH mod?

hey guys just got some 01 z06 wheels, the rears are 18X10.5 will a 285 tire in the rear fit? or will i need to bang in the inner part so that it fits? would a 295 possibly fit? and also will i need to have the fenders rolled? or do i need any wheel spacers? the car is dropped on vogtland springs about 1.5 inch drop. thanks guys

if im not mistaking pointac firebirds/trans ams/ws6 quarter panals are fatter around the wheels so you can even fit a 315 without rolling your fenders with the right offset. but thanks for the response.

i had to do the bfh mod on my 295's even when i was stock ride height... might want to go ahead and do it... you dont want to ruin the rear tires

My 18x10.5s wrapped in a true 315mm wide tire fit with no modifications. It is very close though.

yes, but what how far did you drop your ride height? I don't mean to hijack anyones thread but I'd also like to know this. I was thinking about getting stranos spring and koni package which should drop it 1 1\2". I am making about 380rwhp and 275s just don't cut it. I was looking at oes' wheel package with 19X10s rear and 18x9s up front. What I need to know is what is the widest tire I can fit without having to mess with the wells in the rear?

Even with the Eibach prokit, today I was able to install 295/35/18s in the rear (on my C5 Z06 motorsports) without any rubbing.

ws6 body is wider around the fender wells in the back so you can even fit a 315 with the right offset without even rolling your fenders

^^Nevermind...I will be pulling out the hammer tomorrow. It rubbed quite a bit when taking semi-aggressive turns.

My vote is that if they are Corvette offset and your BMR PHB is adjustable, just run a 1/4 inch spacer and you'll be good with 285s or 295s. I ran 275s on Z06 rims on my SS for over a year (with stock PHB) and only had very light rubbing on one fenderwell. Between the spacer and getting your rear centered, you should have no issues. If all else fails, measure the BS and consult the sticky in this section.

Forgot to mention, my rear end isn't centered exactly (perhaps why it only rubs on the passenger side). Since it was lowered, I haven't got it done. My adj panhard bar was shipped yesterday, so we'll see how it fits after this issue is corrected.

Quick Reply: 18X10.5 z06 wheels 285/35/18 tires will it need a BFH mod?
