It's brand new tire with less than 100 miles on it, paid a God damn 300 bucks a piece only to find this this morning. Is it safe to patch it in this area? I need your experience and opinions please. It's a 295/35/18 tire.
Thanks a lot.

it looks like a patch would hold there but it looks like its really close to the no patch zone, but worste case scenario id patch i and use it as a spare

Yeah I thought to use it as a spare, I won't sell it patched. The thing is this tire is really expensive and I'm not sure if patching it would be really safe, I know it's on the line of yes/no patch so I thought to ask your opinions and see what's up.
Would it matter if tire is used on front or back when patched as far as as safety? All tires and rims on the car are the same size anyway.

im not sure it seems with the patch being close to the edge i wouldnt use it on the front, if you dont do burnouts i think it would be fine on the rear, ive seens some cars get pretty messed up doing burnouts with a patched tire

Nah, bought them a long time ago but only recently mounted them, I didn't even know that you can get insurance.

find a place that uses a plug/patch... not sure of the technical name but basically they will drill the hole out and the patch has a nipple on it that will seal the hole and works like a regular patch on the inside of the tire... we have those at my work and they work great and you should have no problems at all on your tire

Don't sweat it bro, patch it and call it a day. I used to patch things WAY worse than that and the patches held.

Thank you guys for all the help and opinions. I patched it today and put it back on the car (Noticed the nail the other day, car isn't driven all winter so I won't drive it till spring).
The NTB guy kinda "Scared" me telling me to junk it yesterday (Not to mention they didn't have the equipment to work on an 18x10.5 rim, but yet they call it "NATIONAL TIRES AND BATTERY") so I had to turn here to the EXPERTS.

Thanks for your inputs guys.
