Default Aluma stars

Will the aluma stars clear the calipers on a 01 camaro? I want the 15x10 with 7.5 backspacing on the rear and the 15x3 1/2 for the front. Does anyone know if they will clear the calipers?
Thanks Marcus

Since these wheels are designed for strip use only you will have to modify your stock brakes to get them to clear.

What? No, you're wrong. I don't know about the Alumastars, but 15x10 w/ a 7.5 backspacing should clear your stock calipers.
Don't offer advice if you don't know what you're talking about.

Do a search bub. I think I saw some on a 4th gen the other day on here. They will fit.

What makes you think he doesn't know what he's talking about? Can you provide proof the Alumastar fits WITHOUT grinding? Unless Weld has redesigned the wheel (and I honestly don't know if they have or not) then it's likely the 15" Alumastar will NOT clear the calipers without some grinding. I think his offer of advice wasn't bad or wrong at all.

From what I've seen any 15x10 w/ 7.5 BS should fit fine. A 15x8 requires grinding.

I have the Aluma Star on my ride for about 5 years and I had to do a lot grinding to make them fit with a spacer. Same back spacing that you are talking about. Unless the Weld changed their design then they will not bolt right up! Look at my photo gallery and check them out

No, YOU'RE wrong, and perhaps you should know what YOU are talking about before you tell someone at Weld Racing that they don't know what they're talking about, when it comes to their own wheels, idiot.

A 15" Weld Alumastar of ANY size will not fit over stock LS1 brakes. Alumastars don't even come in a 7.5 backspace.

I am not sure but my backspace is either 7.5 or 7. Special order only, nothing that JEGS or Summit keep in stock. I had to wait like 2 weeks for them.

Word man. I was misinformed. I was under the impression that any 15x10" wheel w/ a 7.5 BS would fit w/o grinding. My bad. Now I know better.

I browsed through your pictures. They appear to have a 6" backspace visually, but it's hard to tell. 7 at the most. Summit might have been out of stock with them at the time, but as of right now they can ship a 7" backspace Alumastar to your door by tomorrow.

Unless Summit knows something that Weld Racing does not know. There is no 7" backspacing of an Alumastar on Weld's website for a 15x10 only a 3,4,5,6" backspacing.

If they did I would have already bought a set of Magnum Drags for my car already.

In my previuos post I said Weld's website. Go to Weld's website and you won't see one with a 7 inch backspace.

Who would you trust the people who make the wheel or some distributor of the wheel?

I'm not too sure why they're not listed on the website. I'll have to ask Scott to take care of that. I pulled that part number straight from our parts sheet here at the shop, and punched it in on Summits website to confirm, as well as our dealer account.

As someone who has had the wheel in discussion on my own car, and as someone who helps out with Weld Racing, I can assure you there is a 7.00" backspace Alumastar and Magnum.
