I fought with this for SO long. I love the chrome SS 10 spokes, just couldn't stand that no one makes a wider version for the rears. Looked into widening at $400/pair + shipping and then I'd want to refinish them so they look new ($300 - $400 more).
Finally just gave up and bought a set of C6 replicas with 18" x 10.5" rears for $650 and I'm done with it.
Good advice above about sticking with a 10.5" wheel. I have a 10.5" wheel and it took a 1" spacer to get the clearance I needed for the 315 Nittos. Fortunately it worked and I didn't have to bang on the car.

From an aesthetic standpoint, it kicks ***. I doubt the practical aspects of it though. I don't see it giving more than marginally more traction and some of that might be perceived due to increased rotating mass in the drivetrain slowing down the launch. I just don't see that much more rubber helping overcome the potential extra rotational mass.
Thoughts???
Don't get me wrong, it looks amazing and I have 10 spoke SS wheels on my T/A and would strongly consider it.
