18x10.5 c5 DD fitment problem
i've got 18x10.5 c5 DD with goodyear g2d3's 295/35-18s mounted on all 4 corners.
the fronts have a 3/16" spacers and the rears have 5/16" spacers.
installed arp 2.5" high strength studs as well.
the fronts fit good, no rubbing issues that i can see, at least so far.
the rears on the other hand, seem to be bottoming out on the quarter panel lips. tried massaging them with a rubber mallet, no joy. tried rolling the lip under with a pvc pipe and a buddy sitting on the rear of the quarter panel to lower it some. this worked and the lips tucked under nicely with only a little bit of paint cracking inside the lips. but the tires still have a slight rub when i hit a pothole or similar dip which bottoms out the rearend.
going to be replacing my bump stops as they are old and ripped.
i thought the rears would fit fine and the fronts would be problems. but looks like i have it the other way around.
suspension mods are listed in my sig.
thanks
tony

is your rear aligned?
both rears hit? I don't think you need the spacer, or one that big at least.
tspence45 has the same wheels w/ 335 wide tires, and I don't think he has any serious rubbing issues??
Maybe take off the spacers, and use a Big Hammer to massage the wheel wells?
Or get a 1/4" spacer ?

yeah i could try a smaller spacer. which would suck, cause the look is great with the front and rear the same width.
with the spacer i have, i didn't need to use a bfh at all. it cleared the inner fenders.

can try to get some pics this weekend.
i am thinking about removing the spacer in the front and seeing if they will still clear.
the front track is slightly wider than the rear right now. i jsut measured today.
the 5/16" spacer for the rear seems to be working well now that i have rolled the quarter panel edge.
although my car does sit VERY low in the rear with the strano springs. probably the lowest i've seen.
