Default 30, 35, or 40/18?

I want traction, and will be getting drag radials between 305-315 for my 10.5 inch wheels. Now I need to decide if I should get 30, 35, or 40 height. My car has 3.23's in a 6 speed(roll race only car), I will not launch this car prolly ever(At least on this rear end), but there will be alot of spirited driving including in first gear. Will the smaller side wall of a 30 make much difference? How much does each tire size change the final drive ratio?

none of those sizes will give the correct tire height...
295/35x18 is 26.1" (closest to stock)
305/35x18 is 26.4"
315/30x18 is 25.4"
315/35x18 is 26.7"

345/35x18?? thats 27.5" tall... did u mean 345/30x18? thats 26.2" tall, a BFG drag radial... but a 345 tire needs at least a 12" rim...

Stock height doesn't matter to me, but why does the height of a tire go up when the width goes up?

The Q is more like what brand will you take? From my personal exp, I recommend Avon tech M550, BF goodrich g force summer; very sticky from any speed roll! 1st is more though for manual, but youre auto so you should be good! I dont think you need DRs, unless at high hp levels.

the height goes up because its a percentage of the width... thats y u lower the ratio when u goto a larger diameter... 275/40, the height is 40% of the width... 275/35, the height is 35% of the width... 305/35, the height is 35% of the width, and 305 is larger than 275...

My car is a 6 speed(with 3.23's, swapped rear). It's already modded(hammered/rolled) to run 345 slicks, so not worried about any of that really. The car will be at about 425 to the wheels on motor, with a 150 shot soon after the wheels get on it.

I've been seeing some pictures of a 335 on a 10.5 inch wheel and it actually looks nice, wondering how safe it is for cornering though.

Tire height will matter because of 2 reasons
1. You gear ratios WILL change/ (in a good way or bad), speedo will be off without proper tuning,
2. lower profile tires= less side wall flex= better handling, but less hooking traction.

I've seen a few pictures as well of 335(nitto)on a 10.5 c5 deep dish and it looked real nice. I'm getting those deep dish c5 next month and I'm looking for a similar tire
