Default What PSI for 555r's on the street?....at the track?

just bought a used set of nitto 555r drag radials and i want to know what PSI you guys are running when you race at the strip....also how much for driving on the street.....can wait to see if they solve my traction probs at the strip....275 street tires just isn't cutting it....

At the track i have used them anywhere from 18 psi to 25 psi and they hook the best at 20 psi for me . I have cut a best of 1.74 60 ft times with them . On the street i run them at 25 psi and they wear even. my friends have used them on the street with 30 psi and they wear out faster in the middle so you can take that for what its worth. Oh and my car is a a4 full weight 02ws6 and at that time was making about 430 hp and 413 lbs . The 1.74 60 ft was the best i could do with THOSE TIRES . Funny thing is i can hook better on the street then at the track with them so i just use them for my street tire know lol.

what size were they.....the ones i've got are 315's, they seem super wide to me since i'm used to 275's....thanks for the input man.....the ones i've got are pretty worn down already.....i will try the 20psi first time at the track.....i also hear you have to really heat these up for them to hook, unlike mickey's

They are 285-35-18 . I dont know why but unlike what other people say i get my best 60s with these with only a small burn out NOT A LONG ONE . Again i dont know why but when i do a long burn out they get alittle slick and i get 1.88 - 1.95 60s and get 1.74 - 1.78 all day when i do a light stuff on them . Go figure but these are the only tires that i have ever had that likes that and what i mean by that is these are my 3rd set the other two liked a long burn out but not these. The only thing i did different with these is i got discount to heat cycle them when i bought them . I dont know if that has anything to do with it or not to be honest with you but its the only thing that is different about the 3 sets .

Go to the strip and experiment with them your self, find out what works best for You!

No offense, try doing some research.
These tires are known for sucking huge at the strip, but hook great on the street.
The only nitto that's camparable to the MT is the new NT05r.
