ANYTHING else other than 555s. lol Sorry just not a fan of em. Dont hook for crap for me! especially on street. Altho they probably do rank high on the life expetancy. They are the cheapest for a reason. I'm just tryin to burn mine down, so i have excuse to buy some different ones. M/T ETs if you can. or maybe the new Toyo and New Nitto DR 501. Haven't seen too many reviews on the 501 yet, but the Toyos seem to doing well.

NT05's all the way. Even the street tire. I had them on my old 97 and absolutely loved them. I can't imagine how nice the NT05R's would be!

I have the NT555s. I like them. They hook real good for me. I only have about 350 RWHP. I heard some talk on here that they're no good for 400+ cars.
I say get 'em if the price is right.

I just put some NT 05's on my SS. 285/35/18, they hook and handle great. I must say they hold up to my 422 RWHP just fine.

Umm, yeaa your cars heavily modded compared to the OP's car. There's the reason for your car not hooking with these tires.

OP, i say get them.

they will hook on 400+ hp cars well enough if you lower the psi below 20 and do a big burnout- broke an axle with them launching at 3k and hooking 5 ft down the track snap. but did have lot of problems hooking before that, if i were to buy some new drs i would go another direction

All those so called drag tires are going to be 15k tops. I have 315 555r's right now and they hook a billion times better than the 285 555r's that were on my HOSS.

Also, these tires are not made to "burnout". Roll those things over a few times and knock the dust off and they are ready. No need to blast em.

I have em on my car and they hook just right on on the jug with 540rwhp/580rwtq in 2nd gear on the streets. Get em!!

I might add that maybe some plp dont hook cause they run stiffer suspension and ****. I run on stock style suspension+some mods so its all good.

..they hook just fine N/A in 1st and I'm 407rwhp.

I had Avon Tech m500 and BF g-force street and they were as good but I prefer the 555 in the look departement.

Discount Tire is sponsor here and their price are sweet.

I had Mickeys in the past and they hooked pretty crazy, but I got caught in the rain and got scared. Plus they dont last. Depends what you want. I like to have some good cornering attributes, so Drag radials are not an option for me.

I say BFG. BFGs are a very underrated tire around this forum. I have a pair of G-Force T/As and they hook up AMAZINGLY and have lasted two years and going strong.
