LIGHT WEIGHT racing wheels?

Forgestar F14's
These will be for a Corvette ya? (should still work on a Fbody)

Mine are a custom front offset (+48) for 18x10 front and 18x11 rear (+55). You can get a normal front offset if you go with a different sized front. Give Ryne at CMS a call and he can get them ordered for you at a great price
Oh, 19 lbs front and 20lbs rearRyne @ CMS: (951) 677-0716

But, the OE C5 z06 replica's I had weren't too heavy.

The road race designs...I'd put them up against just about any other aluminum wheel on the market in a destruction test...they are VERY durable...of which they need to be as road racing stress seen can be far greater than street driving or drag racing.
Actually, many of our shell designs incorporate 6xxx series; a higher (and more expensive) grade material whereas most use 5xxx series aluminum shells. Take our wheels...pluck the shell, ours will ring like a bell...others will report with a dull "thump" sound.
Our designs go through a variety of processes to ensure a quality end result. One of the final stages are to go through a solution treatment (heat treat) to ensure even tempered material. They are not just left work hardened as other manufactures setups.
We do offer many designs for different applications. We offer drag wheels which are designed for drag use, we offer street/strip wheels for use on the street and strip. We offer road race wheels which are designed for road course racing. We also have other misc. designs i.e. sand buggy and other stuff which I won't go into on this forum as it really doesn't pertain to the boards.
Our road race designs are very light and very strong and intended for intense road racing stress. Obviously they cannot be built as light as our drag wheels... our road race designs are among the lightest in the world due to the design and build process. Depending on the designs the weights will vary...take a typical LT1/LS1 design road race wheel (17x11), you'll find it to be about 17lbs. I think if it’s compared to other wheels on the wheel weight list, it’s probably the lightest (compared to other 17x11 wheels). Obviously, the smaller the wheel, the lighter it will be. If you wanted a 9" wheel for example, the weight would be closer to 15lbs. Overall weight is not the only important factor, its also the placement of the weight which affects performance and benefits. For example, a wheel with more weight directed towards the outer portion of the wheel will have a greater negative effect on performance vs. one with more weight directed towards the center of rotation....even if the two weighed exactly the same.
I don't know what your budget is, our wheels are not for everyone, they aren't economy wheels...but they aren't the most expensive. I can't tell you our wheels can be purchased for 1000.00 like a set of cast wheels...that type of setup is like comparing apples to oranges. Our shells are spun formed i(n house), not cast formed (a far less expensive process). Depending on the size wheels you want, a typical configuration will be at a ballpark price of 2000-2500.00. We can build as small as 5" wide up to 17" wide in .5" increments. Diameters are from 15" to 17" in our road race configurations.
