Default Guys w/ 325 Tires step in please!

Anybody tried the new M&H Drag Radial in 325/45-17 (28" tall, roughly 12.5" wide)? i'm looking to get a set of 17s and let the welds rest. I believe they say it needs 11" rim but i think the 10.5" i'm looking at will sufice. I know guys run the 325/50-15 so i'm guessing the w/ the dimensions it would be the same fitment.

Anybody got experience w/ these and how they fit in fbody configuration?

thanks!

I have 325/30R19 as the rear tires (on C6 ZO6 rims) on my 00 Trans Am. The tread width rubs inside my wheelwell in several places. I BFH Modded it and still had to cut out the bulge above the bump stop, including the bump stop and mount. The horizontal ridges had to get beaten back and the forward part of the well had to get beat back from bottom most the way to the top. Mini-tubbing would bypass lots of that work.

My 325s are mounted on a 12" wide rim. For your taller tire, I don't know if it would fit or not on a more narrow rim, but I'd think an 11" rim would be as skinny as I'd go. Good luck and hopefully you'll get a few replies from guys with more precise experience.

I am running those M&Hs right now on a 17x11 wheel. You should be alright running a 10.5" wheel because the tires run narrow. I already beat the inside of my fender wells to fit the 325/50/15 MT ET Streets. My fenders are also rolled. I have no clearance issues with the tires. They actually slant inwards a little bit giving it alot more room for clearance.

You should be fine, those tires run pretty small.

after talking to John at M&H yesterday if found this:

about 2 years ago they changed the mold. ROD-20 is the new mold for the 325/45-17, and despite the specs being wrong in the newest Jegs cat. the new tire is 11.3" tread and 12.5" overall width.

This is compared to the first edition 325/45-17 at 10.3" tread and 12.1 overall width.

In other words, the newest M&H 325/45-17 will require some work to fit where the old one didn't really.

Let us know how they work, my car sucked with M&Hs!

PS My Camaro has 325/50r-15 MT Drag radials on it (11.60" tread, 13.10 section width) and I didn't have to really do anything to fit them. A light tap on the drivers side inner fender was about it.
