Race Star rims! Post pics!
#190
Hi guys. I'm putting together a order for these wheels front and back from mccormickracing.com and I was wondering if these rear wheels would fit the 15x10 rear wheel.
Mickey Thompson - ET Street Radial
MT3754R P275/60R15 MT site says approved rims are 7.5-9.5
Race stars are 10", so I'm wondering?
I thought I read somebody was using these. Does anyone know if there would be any issues?
98 Trans AM with stock rear end btw
Thanks

Check pg 9 the silver z has 17x7 and 15x10s, 17x9s are just going to be a lil wider, noone runs a 15x10 up front,15x4 15x3.5 is what most people run, 15x10 in front would be a bad idea, there are no good tires you can run up front on a 15x10

Because the car is going to see the street more than anything, I don't want to put skinnies on the front for maybe a pass or two a year at the track, and sacrifice the safety/handling on the street (even though the car isn't DD). I was having issues finding tires for the 15x10 on the rear that would match a height for the 17 in the front, so I was considering 15x10 all around, because i felt it would be my only option (I wanted to put 15s in the back, so 17s all around wasn't something I was considering). I realize I can get tires that may be different heights, but then I would be introducing the ABS fiasco, and I'm not quite ready to 86 the ABS yet.
I realize 15x10 is a lot for the front. Even though I was thinking about it, I wasn't committed to it...
After more digging following my last post, I found a tire that will match (height wise) with something I can put on a front 17, so I'll be going with 15/17 combo

Originally I was looking for a 27-28" tall tire for the front that would fit that size rims. That's where I was having the issue (I'm not even sure its a good idea to use a tire that tall up front for any street driving, even if its not DD).
