Talking My $300 FIKSE's!!!!! (Updated Pics on Post 23)

well it turns out after i was the worlds largest dumbass by passing these things up, my good friend duvalsoldier904, drove all the way back to daytona just to get these for me. i paid 300 for them and one is cracked and another is missing some clearcoat.
the guy that owned them before me had them on his wifes bmw and he did not know one thing about them. he didnt know the size, bolt pattern or width. so i ran about 3/4 miles to get the tool to measure the bolt pattern ($5), checked them...perfect 5x120. so like an idiot i told him i would think about it. i came back later and handed him the money then realized that they are 8" wide so i got my money back. then the whole rest of the day i was kicking myself so duval went and got them and it only cost me a tank of gas ($40). so the total cost is $345!!!!
all i need to do is clean them up, fix the crack and buy some new outer lips to widen the rear 2 and i should be good and have a pair of Fikse's for under $1000

CLEARCOAT PROBLEM

CRACK

...World's dirtiest/most neglected set of Fikse's. Was the guy filthy rich? The type to send it to a shop and say "put some nice wheels on it for my wife".

Brake cleaner? Lol. I'm not sure. Maybe a wire brush on a drill?

It'll be nice to see these once they are repaired.

And did his wife AIM for potholes?!

he could have been. he was an older guy i got them at the daytona turkey rod run and he had his little swap meet area but he had a piece of **** truck on a trailer but it looked like his wife had a new 3 series bmw. most of the people there are straight up redneck, they even had the matching cutoff jeans and t shirt and mullet. so they had no idea what the hell they were

i was thinking diluted simplegreen and a scotchbrite pad but it sounds like it haha. im praying that they arent bent. i cant tell right now. they look perfect but im going to go over them good so i know which ones are the worst so i can replace them.
he said he got a new center for them and it was $600. my guess is they came on the car.

I saw your other thread about turning them down and I'm glad you went back and got them.

Honestly, I'd send them off to get widened. Then send them off to get cleaned/blasted and get them dipped in chrome honestly. I bet you'll have less then $2k in a BALLER set of wheels that will be light and easy to clean.

I hate you btw...

I know that when I stripped my WS6 wheels with aircraft stripper, some dripped onto the inside of the wheel and took away years of build up.

Looks good! Wish I could find deals like that. How do you change out the hoops? They look to be a welded construction instead of a bolted together wheel?

Yea the pattern didn't look right so I ran down to the other end to get a tool to measure them and it was perfect. What day did you go?

Diluted simple green and the lightest steel wool is what I used to clean off the years of brake dust on my barrels

You say the lightest steel wool which is #0000 or super fine but I was reading the back of the package and it said to use #00 very fine to polish and restore aluminum and clean metal wheels
