Tires rubbing
Hey yall. Need some help. I swapped out my rally wheels for some american racing wheels today on my 69 camaro. Great wheels, love em. They stick out a bit farther than the rallys did so the back wheels are smacking that lip where the chrome trim on the wheelwell is. Ive heard an easy fix for this is to "simply" bend the chrome trim and the little piece of body its attached to up so the tire will clear it. I measured it off and it will work. I just dont want to tear up the exterior of the wheelwell. Thoughts.

Yep, that's known as fender rolling and it works great for gaining some extra clearance for your wheels, though you'd want to do it slowly and carefully.
If you are too aggressive you might end up denting the body around the spot where you're rolling your fender / chrome lip in this case.

what size and back spacing are the wheels.measure to where the pinch weld is at and cut with a die grinder.I did mine and put 295 under lip with stock components under the rear.also lowered 3".with drum rear brakes 5 1/4,disc rear 5 1/2 backspacing.

Im running an LS1 on a 4L60E auto. Im actually pretty good on parts. The bulk of my problems are cosmetic. One part I could use is a cable driven tailshaft so I can get the speedo going. Those things are tough to find.
DISCLAIMER : So I dont get flamed when someone tries to do this, make sure you locate the welds for the inner and outer fenders. Cut that and rubbing tires will become the least of your worries.
