Default Hydro Dipped Carbon Fiber ZR1 Wheels, Any interests???

Currently I have a set of chrome zr1 wheels (2-17x9.5s and 2-17x11s). One of the wheels has a small flaked up are of chrome. These wheels have zero curb rash and zero flaws other than the flaked chrome.I have had several people interested in them and wanting them but still have not seen any money and have had a lot of low ballers...so I came up with this as a way to spark interest in people that want something different and unique and get these things sold. I will have these wheels bead blasted/acid dipped..etch primed...base coated...hydro dipped in carbon fiber...and clear coated using high quality paints... I have never seen anybody with any wheels like this before and i am offering this custom set of wheels to whoever would like to purchase them. Hydro dipping is an expensive process and involves a lot of prep work...time...money... and preciseness. I can have them painted any color of base coat under the carbon fiber to have it shown through..or can have it just the regular carbon fiber pattern (grey/silver and black). I will require payment before I dismount them from my car and have them stripped and hydro dipped to ensure that I do not have all this done and no payment. Please call 785 737 6209 and we can talk about it. Thanks

Just to be clear to everyone, there is absolutely no real Carbon Fiber involved in the Hydrodipping process correct? It is stictly a patern. The process is very cool but it is still just fake carbon fiber look, not real carbon fiber.

^^^Yep that's right. It is just a pattern...no real CF used.

yeah you are correct..just a cosmetic pattern that looks like it, not real carbon fiber, But nobody could afford these if they were real carbon fiber either!

that is exactly he pattern i plan on using...if i decide to keep them for myself i will lay down a red base coat instead of the graphite/silver based used in that picture...and it will be a black and red weaved carbon fiber on my red t/a...

I think they would look good in a regular CF pattern.. I have seen some wheel companies offering this for a lot of money.

Interesting idea. I like the center section, that looks badass.

I say go for it, and also what is the estimated cost? PM me if you would rather do that

How much is it to hydrocoat and who does it? I'm in new York and would LOVE to dip my chrome z06's. I have a white Ss and have grey theme. This would work great IN MY OPINION.

Default dipping wheels

I am not sure what it would cost to have your wheels dipped...I was going to do it because a guy about twenty miles from me opened up his own hydrographics business...and I was going to help him do it and basically me and him do all the glass beading..prep work..paint...dipping and clearing...So I was gettin a decent price due to me knowing him...me doing a lot of the work my self and basically just using his equipment..shop..and knowledge. I would guess the average person will pay around $200+ PER wheel. Yes expensive...but also very unique...looks like my wheels are sold though...so this might not happen...as glad as i was to see my wheels sold it is kinda saddening because I was gettin excited about doing this. ..and being one of the first to do it...but i might do this process with my drag wheels I will be buying later on down the road...who knows...

FWIW, the high end wheel companies offer real carbon fiber wheels not dipped ones..

And the other pics don't even look like carbon fiber. Closest thing is the stuff in the red pattern and even that's not all that realistic..

Default dipped wheels

thats a different type of carbon fiber the wheels are dipped in above...the guy I know that does hydro dipping has around 50 different types of carbon fiber patterns to choose from. The carbon fiber weaved pattern is what would look exactly like the REAL carbon fiber wheels...yes I know not real carbon fiber...but who cares...If you had real carbon fiber wheels they would be worth more than the car they are on. I like to do things that nobody has done before...and like to make my car unique from everybody else. Hence why I was going to do these up for my car or offer them dipped in the carbon fiber pattern of the buyer's choice so that he/she could have something unique from what every other fbody looks like.

I don't care what other guys say, it looks interesting. Would I do it to my wheels...probably not, but its different and has potential IMO

Good luck with the sale of the wheels, if they don't sell I'm looking forward to seeing them done.
